What is a contraction?A shortened version of the written and spoken forms of a word,syllable

or word group.

Contractions are formed when two words are contracted or put together and an apostrophe is added to replace the omitted letters.

Have or Has Contractions:"Would have" becomes "would've" as in I would've eaten that pizza.

"Should have" becomes "should've" as in You should've seen him there!

"Could have" becomes "could've" as in I could've ridden there with you.

REMINDER "Would of", "should of" & could of" are NOT contractions. Only "would have", "should have", & "could have" exists.

Am, Is and Are Contractions "I am" becomes "I'm" as in I'm on my way to my appointment.

"You are" becomes "you're" as in you're going to drive us there.

"She is" becomes "she's" as in she's coming to pick you up.

Confused Contractions: "Its,

It's,It's' "It's : the contraction of "it is" or "it has." It never has any other meanings. Must be able to replace and maintain sentence "it's" with it is or it has or else you cannot use this.Its : is the possession form of the pronoun 'it'. For example "I liked the movie, especially its ending." Its': NOT A WORD UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Its awesome that in other parts of Japan, the same three stars appear in a constellation.

Correct Answer..C is the correct answer because the sentence is not possessive to anything. Instead the sentence is telling you that it is awesome that in other parts of Japan, the three stars appear constellation.
