• Your computer can rip mp3 files from an audio CD or collect them from other mp3 players while it still leaves the songs on the systems you collected them from

• If there are two sounds playing at once the human ear can only hear the louder one so the mp3 files can take out the quiet sounds making the size of the file smaller
