INTRODUCTION
It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the joint meeting of the British Societies for Cell and Developmental Biology. This conference is our flagship event for 2015 and provides a unique forum to network and socialise with a wide cross-section of the Cell and Developmental Biology community. The 2015 Spring Conference is expected to attract approximately 400 delegates, many of whom will be budget holding principal investigators, and we anticipate the participation of many leading suppliers as exhibitors and sponsors. The British Societies for Cell Biology and Development Biology are long established Learned Societies in their respective fields. Together they have in excess of 2,500 active members in the UK and abroad. The meeting features plenary and parallel sessions, with an outstanding line up of speakers from around the world. This year's plenary lectures will be presented by Brigid Hogan, FRS and Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz. Brigid Hogan has made numerous contributions to stem cell biology and transgenic technology. She is Chair of the Department of Cell Biology at Duke University and has previously served as President of the American Societies of Developmental Biology and Cell Biology. Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz is a world-renowned cell biologist who has made key discoveries in membrane trafficking and has been at the forefront of developments in imaging from her lab at the NIH. She will deliver the Garland BSCB plenary lecture. The meeting also includes the BSCB Hooke Medal, BSDB Waddington Medal and BSDB Beddington Prize lectures, as well as the inaugural BSCB Women in Cell Biology Prize lecture. The Exhibition associated with the Conference offers an excellent opportunity to promote products to research scientists in the varied fields of Cell and Developmental Biology, and to receive the latest information about developments in these areas. We invite you to be involved, to contribute to the conference by exhibiting or taking advantage of one of the sponsorship opportunities. To encourage delegates to the exhibition, we run an “Exhibition Passport” scheme in which delegates have the opportunity of winning a prize by attending exhibitors’ stands. In return, your firm’s products and services will receive high profile exposure and contribute to your marketing initiatives by:
Gaining market opinion
Creating sales contacts and goodwill with users
Updating your staff on the current trends in techniques and developments The Organising Committee look forward to confirming your participation and to welcoming you to Warwick.
