Dal is a soup made of lentils and spices, served over boiled

grain (bhat) with vegetable cur-ry (tarkari).

Ethinic Newari Cuisine “Samay Baji”

This native Kathmandu cuisine consists of Beaten rice “Chhyura” , marinated meat “Choila” , egg, black soybeans “Bhatmaas” , spicy potato pickle “Aalu Achar”, finely cut ginger , boiled beans mixed with spices

“Bodi ko Achar”.

MOMONative to Tibet, Momo is a type of

Dumpling, made of white flour and water dough steamed with filling of either non veg or veg. The eve-ryone’s favourite momo is usally

serverd with dipping sauce normal-ly made of tomato.

Roti is made with the mixture of rice flour, water, cooking oil and

ghee.

YomariYomari a delicacy of the native

Newars of Kathmandu valley. It is the key part of the festival Yomari punhi. Yomari is made of rice flour and the inner fill-ing consist of sweet substance

“Chaku”.

ChatamariA type of appetizer which re-

sembles pizza is actually a rice crepe. Widely eaten as snacks, it is usally a flat rice bread with

topping of miced meat, egg and vegetables.

JUJU DHAU (Yoghurt)Literally means “king of yo-

gurt” in the Newari language. Juju Dhau is a sweetened cus-

tard-like yogurt that is made in Bhaktapur, Nepal.
