Founded in 1956 by U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, as part of the

U.S. Information Agency. In 1961 People to People was privatized as a

NGO (People to People International). Former President Eisenhower was

the 1st Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Purpose:

To enhance international understanding and friendship through

educational, cultural and humanitarian activities involving the exchange

of ideas and experiences directly among peoples of different counties.

parts.
