Films• A film, which may be also referred to as, a movie or motion picture, is a
story conveyed with moving images. • This is produced by recording photographic images with cameras, or by
creating images using animation techniques or visual effects.• Films can be separated into different genres. These include; Action ,
Adventure, Comedy , Crime, Drama, Horror, Science Fiction, Thrillers, and many more.
• Some genres came into place as technology, and time grew. E.g. Science Fiction films are becoming more recognised, and technical, as technology is advancing. One globally known film is “Avatar”. The film breaks all boundaries, and the film itself has won numerous awards.
My Interests:• I enjoy a variety of film genres, however my favourite is
dramas, particularly romantic dramas. • As a result, I have decided to choose drama for my film genre.
Drama• A drama film is a film genre that depends mostly on in-depth development of realistic
characters dealing with emotional themes. • Drama can also merge with other genres called sub-genres. These may include, crime
dramas, romance dramas, historical, and comedy genres.• From the early 1950s, dramas were made to educate the audience. They were relevant to
the current world. • Drama films are very important, because not only can they merge with other genres or sub-
genres, but people find it very easy to relate to, as some deal with real-life situations.
Romance:Slumdog Millionaire
Historical:World Trade Center

Timeline Of The Progression Of Drama Films
An Opening Sequence •An opening sequence (also known as “Opening Credits” are shown are shown at the very beginning of a film or media text and list the most important members of the production
•It is also where production logos/specialities are also shown.
•I have chosen to use the opening sequence of the “The Pursuit of Happyness”. This is because I believe it is a very emotional opening sequence.
My Opening Sequence•My opening sequence will focus on the stages the girl was in before she met the guy.
•Therefore, it can be shown as a flashback.
The Story• A girl is depressed, stressed, and lonely.• Her mother is an alcoholic, and a single parent.• The stress of exams takes its toll, on top of the fact she is lonely.• She has been recently dumped.• As a result, she seeks solace in an internet chat room, and is victim to internet
grooming. • He meets her, and convinces her to agree to a pact of suicide.
