revealedaworkofartonceallthe

dotswereconnected.OurConnection

Centeris,inessence,aConnectthe

DotscanvasthroughwhichGodis

connectinghimselftousandtheKaty

community.Whiletheseconnections

mayseemrandomtous,Godseesa

beautifulpictureofministrythatheis

creatingthroughus.

Whenwewelcomeguestsintothe

church,weareactuallywelcoming

Christ.TheConnectionCenteristhe

focalpointofwhereGodisconnecting

theheartofthechurchtotheheartofKaty.Justaswe

steppedoutinfaithsixyearsagotobuildtheConnection

Center,nowwearebeingcalledtocompletethatjourney

throughthenextstepoffaith.

WehavebeengivenalivinglegacythatisFirstUnited

MethodistChurch.Wehonorthecommitmentsofthose

whohavecomebeforeusbybuildinguponthefoundation

theyhavelaid.ThesignificanceoftheConnectingHearts

CapitalCampaignismuchlargerthanretiringdebt

andupdatingfacilities.Itisaboutchanginglivesand

transformingheartsforJesusChrist.

Weinviteyoutojoinusinprayerinanticipationofthe

ConnectingHeartsCapitalCampaign.Webelievethatwhen

weconnecttoGodinprayerwediscoverthatGodisableto

steppingoutforathirdtimetocompletethe$3.2million

ConnectionCenterproject.TheChurchCouncilsetagoal

of$1.1millionwhichwillretiretheremainingdebtand

provideforlimitedbuildingimprovementstoourcampus.

Yourgenerousgifts,overandaboveourministrytithesand

offerings,willmakethishappen.Godisdoingamightywork

here—connectinghishearttoFirstUMCandtotheheartsof

thosewhoareseekinghim.

moderndesignandbrightopenspace

wasthefirstindicationoftheradical

hospitalitythatispracticedhere.OnceinsideIwasgreeted

byawarmandlovingcongregation.Itdidn’ttakelongfor

metorealizethatIhadfoundanewspiritualhome.

The vision for the Connection

Center was to create a place

where the heart of God could

connect with the hearts of

people.Itisherethatour

loveofGodandneighboris

expressedintangibleways;

andfromherethatwearesentintotheworldtoservein

Christ’sname.

Thisfallwewillenterintoathirdcapitalcampaignthatis

named“ConnectingHearts.”Thepurposeofthiscampaign

istoretiretheremainingdebtontheConnectionCenter

andtoprovidefundsforneededimprovementsinthe

FamilyLifeCenterandEducationBuilding.TheChurch

Councilhassetatargetgoalof$1.1million.

IaskthatyoubeinprayerfortheConnectingHearts

Campaign.Wehaveagreatleadershipteaminplace

whoareexcitedtoseewhatGodwilldothroughyour

generosity.Theyarecommittedtotheidealthatwhen

God’speoplerespondinfaithitsetsinmotioncountless

blessingsforourchurchandcommunity.

November13thisCommitmentSunday.Onthatdaywewill

dedicateourestimatesofgivingforthecapitalcampaign

andourannualministrysupport.Godisdoingagreatwork
