Introduction to the Cross of Christ

For Christ there had to be a cross, not because He was powerless to prevent it, but because man was powerless without it to atone for his own sins.

There are more than 500 prophecies in the Old Testament that are fulfilled in the New Testament.

It is estimated that more than 300 Old Testament passages foretell events concerning Christ.

Many of them deal with events surrounding the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

At least 56 of them were fulfilled within a twenty-four hour period surrounding the crucifixion.
