Most of the recovery industry worldwide focuses on gathering up the debris then skimming it by various means off the surface while avoiding collecting water. The rougher the water the greater this challenge becomes. This is the bottleneck that all are trying to overcome, thus becoming complicated and costly. These systems include, Spinning disks, continuous ropes, or belts, revolving drums, or suction systems.

Operating Concept

The Powerless Skimmer uses flowing water at the gathering point to push the floating debris down, and let it rise, separating oil from the water.
