The Power of Reviews
Reviews are very powerful, they sell books. Authors are GRATEFUL.
Most book buyers read reviews before they decide whether to buy or not.
A review from a well-known author can really help your own sales.
The Power of ReciprocityReview other authors’ books in your own
genre.
Go for the less well-known names – who are more likely to read their reviews and want to reciprocate.
I had a fantastic review from Ronda Del Boccio early in my publishing career – now I review and promote her books whenever I can.
Use Your Book Title
Pick your most relevant or bestselling book and:
Use it in the signature of your review.
Mention it in the review itself.
Use it in your name – e.g. J.Spears, author of XYZ.
How To Review
You don’t need to write an essay.
Short but sweet but not overly-sweet – it can look false.
A 4-star review isn’t a bad thing!
Use a line or quote from the book in your review.
Watch your spelling and grammar.
