First, the teacher explained what notes are and how they are divided.
Students could practise and actually see the devision.
The teacher prepared a special board with
some popular melodies from
France, The Czech Republic and
Finland.
Students got divided into three groups according to colours on the music board. These were: red (back row), blue (middle
row) and green (front row).
The teacher played the theme on the piano and the groups followed the notes on the board. The red
group had the main rythm and the other two played additional rythms.
Children also sang a song about notes, rythms and metres. The song is rather
difficult to play as the metres in the stanza (3/4) and in the chorus (4/4) change.
