True Team® scoring
True Team® scoring goals…
• Maintain League’s mission and beliefs • Less emphasis on high gun • Recognize best overall team rather than top finishers • Scaleable to work with all team and conference sizes • Encourage teams to introduce beginners • Allow 100% of a team’s athletes the opportunity to
contribute to their team’s scoring performance • Make it exciting for the athletes
True Team® scoring overview… • Athletes compete for points against
all athletes in their conference • The total available amount of points that can be
earned is determined by a pre-determined number (prior to start of the season) of athletes for each team
• Each team in their conference will be required to use the same number of athlete scores to calculate the team score to maintain equal opportunity
• The top score(s) in the conference receives the maximum amount of points
• The lowest score(s) receives minimum 1 point
True Team® scoring assignments… • Number of athlete scores used for each team is
about 70-80% of the smallest team in the conference • Larger conferences will have more athletes and
more points than smaller conferences • Number of athlete scores that are used for each
conference will be announced before season starts
True Team® scoring example… • Class: 1A • Conference: 1 • Number of teams in conference: 5 • Team size: 7-10 members • Number of member’s scores used for team score: 5
(70-80% of smallest team) • Highest possible points: 25 (teams x scores used) • Lowest points: 1 • Total points available: 325 (1-25 points for each level) • Team name: 2
True Team® scoring Athlete earning points… • All athletes shoot
2 rounds of 25 • Compared against all
other athletes in conference
• Non-qualifiers (lowest scores) receive Do Not Qualify (DNQ)
• Ties split points • Decreasing subsequent
scoring
True Team® scoring Team earning points… • Team athlete scores are
totaled for the event
True Team® scoring Team standings… • All team scores are
added, compared to determine standings, and posted on the website at 9:30 p.m. Saturdays
