STEWARDSHIP BY THE BOOK / ADMINISTRACIÓN SEGÚN “EL LIBRO”
Today we remember the three wise men from the East who came to pay homage to the infant Jesus, bringing Him rich gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The gifts we bring — our time, service, and some share of what we earn for the work we do — are equally precious in His sight.

VISITING PRIEST
Father Hugh Duffy, Ph.D. of Cross Catholic Outreach will be visiting our parish next weekend, January 11th & 12th, to speak at all the Masses on behalf of the poor in developing countries. This ministry was founded to create a meaningful link between parishes in America and the priests and nuns working in the Church overseas in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Central and South America.
A second collection will be taken up for Cross Catholic Outreach. Offering brochures will be distributed and collected by Fr. Duffy during each Mass. Please make all checks payable to Cross Catholic Outreach and not to the Church. All donations should be placed in the brochure and given directly to Fr. Duffy.

ARCHBISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL
We will begin the 2014 Campaign this weekend. Any Archbishop’s Annual Appeal donations given as of today will go towards the 2014 goal. To help us reach the new goal amount, we will continue taking up a 2nd collection every weekend. Pledge envelopes will be distributed as soon as we receive them from the Archdiocese. Please hold off on making any pledges until those envelopes are distributed. Thank you for your support.
THE STAR OF BETHLEHEM
The unfolding of the story of the Incarnation continues today as the Church celebrates the Epiphany. The tale of the magi from the East is one of the most fascinating in all of scripture. It has much to teach us about what we can come to expect, even in circumstances and places that may seem insignificant or small. Bethlehem was a tiny town, what we might refer to today as a town without even one stop light. Yet it is over this seemingly insignifi-cant place that the guiding star stops in its own search for the place where the Savior would be born. Too often we fail to recognize the fact that the star of Bethlehem comes to rest in our everyday lives, where we can experience God’s presence, manifested in ever new ways. Epiphany calls us to shake off our stupor and recognize the One who comes to save us.
