Departmental Vision is the aspirational description of what it wants to achieve in future keeping in mind the vision statements of the Institute, SHRI HHJB POLYTECHNIC, Chandwad and MSBTE whereas mission statements clarify the purpose of existence of an organization. Therefore, while designing the Vision and Mission of the department, the following four points were considered.
Why do we exist?
Purpose of the department
Value system of the institute and department.
How can we cater in a better way in academics and other co-curricular activities?
When the above questions were satisfactorily answered, the vision and mission statements got evolved. To start with, the statements of vision and mission as obtained above were thrown open for discussion, debate, opinions, etc. amongst all the stake holders. Articulation of vision and mission was thus initiated and preceded iteratively and when once consensus was reached, the statements of vision and mission got finalized.

Description of process involved in defining the PEOs of the program
PEOs are broader outcomes of the program, to be achieved by the students after 3-5 years of work experience.
POs are outcomes to be achieved immediately after acquiring the diploma.
PSOs define what a diploma holder will be able to do immediately after acquiring diploma education.
COs are outcomes to be achieved immediately after passing a course.
Hence Outcome based education system is a draw-down approach which means, to meet PEOs, P0s, PSOs and COs are to be essentially met with.
To understand the industry requirements of Civil Engineering diploma holders, with 3-5 years of work experience, the following actions were taken by the department.
Alumni association network- was explored at international, national, state and local level to understand the present needs. Feedbacks were collected from them based on the present curriculum and value additions to be imparted to students were identified to arrive at program specific objectives and program educational objectives.
Industry Institute Interaction cell- More than 10 industries engaged in civil engineering activities were contacted to understand the need of the industry and their specific manpower requirements. Ambuja cement, ACC concrete, Canon engineering, SAI enterprises, Kiran Global geo-cement, Reliance Construction (Relcon), Aashapura Industries, Contech CCTC, Fosroc, BASF chemicals were involved. Their feedbacks are taken and shared with MSBTE in designing the Outcome based curricula of MSBTE (I-scheme, that got implemented from academic year 2017-18)
Feedback of Government and Non-Government Organization: Feedback of officers at various levels of government and non-government organization were also taken to make PSOs and PEOs socially relevant.
Parent teacher association; Expectations of parents were also considered while framing PSO s and PEOs.
