Josh Mathew: “I've learned a lot on making a good case and winning debates. I enjoy debating
and Extemping. I love debate!”
Connie Ly: “This year, I have had the pleasure of working with such a great team. The Garland
Speech and Debate team has such a great dynamic this year. It's sad that the team is unable to all
be together but it's also nice in a sense that more work is done. Plus, we get to meet outside of
school and the parties are always a blast. It's exciting to see such young members have so much
enthusiasm and passion for their events. I am so proud of this team.”
Jack Schlosser: “I learned more about the people on the team, the content of debate, how to speak
opening and make an impact on others. I enjoy the competition and the team aspect.”
Theo Winter: “Well so far, going to tournaments has been an extreme learning experience! I'm a
novice in PF this year and I'm glad that we've gone to some pretty competitive tournaments be-
cause now I see what it takes to be a solid debater. Also, I've really enjoyed the "get to know me"
presentations that everyone has done and the debate parties! I love this team!”
Vu Le: “Its been peachy. Fun. Fantastic. Awesome. Super awesome. Everybodys just getting
started and I need to work harder if I want to be up there with everybody.”
Interview with the Team:
How has your year on the Speech and Debate team been going?
Priscilla Samuel: “Well this year has been going quite splendidly. I enjoy debate very much and
the company is quite pleasant as well.”
