Unit 6: When the alien landed
55
Good evening, I’m Voula Theopolous, and this is the evening news.
This afternoon, an alien spaceship landed on a soccer field at a local school. The soccer game was cancelled immediately. Startled children and teachers approached the alien craft as it lay in the field, but quickly ran away when it began to hum and vibrate.
A small door on the ship then opened, and a creature with purple skin and large, green eyes appeared. The alien appeared to be angry and pointed at a soccer ball lying on the field.
On the spot is our reporter Sam Eager. Sam, are you there? Can you tell us the latest news?
