From Your Chairman�:� Hi, and happy almost spring to everyone. On December 22, when�winter officially begins, it’s a pretty cool time of year with all kinds of good�stuff going on. The Holidays are upon us, Christmas is just a few days�away and the New Year is ready to begin. People are visiting, presents are�being given, food is being eaten, adult beverages are being consumed and�time away from work dots our calendars. Furthermore, the weather is cold�and crisp and clear and exhilarating. However, all that comes to a�screeching halt on January 2 or 3. The Holidays are (thankfully) over,�Christmas has become a huge credit card bill and the New Year is just like�the Old Year except with a different numeral at the end. We’re tired of�visiting, the presents still have to be put away or returned, the food we’ve�eaten has blocked our view of our feet, we’re still in a fog from the adult�beverages and it’s time to go back to work. Also, and this is� HUGE�, the�weather sucks.�

Now that it’s almost spring, things are starting to look up. We can think of�the fond memories we have from Christmas as the credit card bill starts to�go down. The New Year has offered some exciting opportunities as we�now remember to use the new numeral at the end. We’re interested in�seeing people again, the presents have been incorporated into our lives, we�can now see our toes again, adult beverages are tolerable again and vacation�planning is on the agenda. Also, and this is�REALLY HUGE�, the weather�is starting to shape up.�

In our neighborhood spring also ushers in the time of year when everyone�needs to step up to the plate, cough up the cake, do the right thing and�become a paid member of the Community in Steeplechase. In case you�missed it in previous Newsletters, becoming a paid member of the�Community in Steeplechase is most of the following:�

Hello Everyone,�

An update on the Wieland subdivision going in on Sever. The planning commissioners after hearing both pros�and cons on Wieland putting in attached housing on this side of North Brown Rd. will recommend to the�County Commissioners next week to DENY the change of zoning for that part of the Project.�

County Commissioners meet next Tuesday Feb 27�th� for a vote on this issue.�

ALSO�

We are doing our best to make homeowners aware of any Gwinnett County Code Violations. If you have an�issue on your property, we will make you aware of it so that you can correct it. If it is not corrected then we�will be forwarding that violation info onto Gwinnett County.�

We do not have local covenants in this community, and in order to keep this neighborhood form declining,�which directly affects the value of your house, we will be looking for violations according to Gwinnett County.�

From the Community President�:�Spring is almost here! For those getting ready to start your spring�

cleaning… here is an article I have reprinted from Realtor.com.�

Rejuvenate Your Garage Floor�Grimy floors are no more with this simple four�-�step� process�

By Patrick Mileham�

Are grease stains and dirt making your garage floor look like a pit stop�at the Indy 500? Fear n�ot. Removing stains from concrete is difficult,�but not impossible. Follow these instructions to make your garage floor�look new again:�

Cover grease stains with a layer of sawdust or cat litter. These�materials absorb excess oil remarkably well. Leave t�he sawdust or cat litter on the floor�for at least one day.�

Use a push broom with rigid bristles to sweep up the sawdust, cat litter and dirt.�

Pour dry dishwasher detergent or a concrete cleaning agent on the stain. Let the�detergent sit for 45 minut�es, then pour boiling water on the area and vigorously scrub the�stained section with the broom. This is the hardest part of the process and can take�several hours to complete.�

Use a pressure washer that produces at least 1200 pounds per square inch to�clean�the entire garage and driveway. Pressure washers are available at most equipment rental�companies.�

Once you remove the stain, consider applying a new surface to the floor. An epoxy�applied directly to the floor provides a smooth finish that resembles� garage floors found�at auto dealerships. If you like, you can add sand or a similarly gritty substance to the�mixture to create a better�-�gripping surface. Be sure to follow the product's application�directions.�

Paint is another floor�-�covering option. Howe�ver, use an epoxy paint created especially for�this job to avoid damage by hot tires.�

From Your Budget Director:�Much research has been done over the past 6 months into changing our chlorine pool into a saline pool at a cost of about�$7000. There are many benefits to doing this with the most significant being a $2200 annual savings in pool maintenance�fees. Considering this annual savings and the Swim Teams gracious offer to donate $1000 towards the change-over�(Thank you Swim Team), we will recoup our investment within 3 years and realize a positive cash flow from the reduction of�maintenance costs. With this in mind, the Board is recommending this change-over and will present it for a vote at our�General Membership Meeting on March 22.�

With this potential pool change-over, an update to the Budget needed to be made and so a 2�nd� Facility Budget is published�in this Newsletter. You will also see that in addition to the change-over, we anticipate a couple of other large expenses this�year. These expenses include resurfacing 3 tennis courts and building a shade pavilion for Courts 1 and 2. The Board�recognizes that these projects will require more dollars than we will bring in with our facility dues. We recommend that we�allocate money from our reserves to cover the cost overages and will budget $1000 per year, for the next 3 years, to help�replenish our reserves. This money will be diverted from Long-term Capital Improvements.�

We hope that you will consider this information, attend the General Membership Meeting, approve our Budget and vote Yes�to the pool change-over. Our goal is to keep Steeplechase the great neighborhood that it has been for so long.�

1 practice meet, 3 home meets, 3 away meets (near). Most meets are on Thursday nights� in June & early July.�

Gwinnett County championships will be Friday July 20 to Sunday July 22 at Georgia Tech's Aquatic Center.�
