The Outstanding Kansas Citian event celebrates more than 80 years of work by NSDKC as it recognizes each year’s honoree. It is a night that members and their guests celebrate

ongoing efforts to preserve the city’s rich heritage and to provide the resources for projects that will share Kansas City’s history with future generations.

As the planning for the 42nd annual OKC gala begins, we take a moment to reflect on the men and women who have received this award. Each is truly an outstanding Kansas Citian who not only helped preserve the rich history of the metro area, but added new chapters to future history books on Kansas City.

The markers presented to groups and organizations at the OKC event complement the longstanding program of NSDKC to place markers commemorating historic sites throughout the Kansas City metro area. The marker program maintains a focus on our city’s history in the midst of urban expansion and development.

Be a part of this great tradition. Join the fun and be part of preserving Kansas City history. Mark your calendar and join your friends for an evening that will make history.
