The Globe Theatre is a theatre created in the Elizabethan Era.
It was built, so plays could continue to be shown in London. This
benefited the King and Queen because this is where the majority of
their entertainment came from, along with their profit.
Slide 4
The Globe Theatre was constructed by an acting group called the
Lord Chamberlain's Men, later renamed the Kings Men. This group
included William Shakespeare, Richard Burbage, and William
Kemp.
Slide 5
11 576- Richard Burbages father built The Theatre in London,
which is where the Lord Chamberlain's men, acted. 11 597- The lease
expired on The Theatre. 11 598- The Lord Chamberlains Men started
to build the Globe theatre from the wood of the original Theatre.
11 599- The Globe Theatre was finished. 11 613- The original Globe
Theatre caught fire due to a cannon shot malfunction during a
performance of Henry VIII. The Theatre burned down to the ground in
less than 2 hours. 11 614- The second Globe Theatre was built on
the same spot as the original Globe Theatre. 11 616- William
Shakespeare died. (Possibly from Typhus)

The Globe Theatre is located in London, England. The new model
of the theatre is 200 meters (about 656 ft) away from the original
site.
Slide 7
The Globe was owned by the Lord Chamberlain's Men who were also
shareholders in the Globe Theatre. Two of the Globe shareholders
owned double shares of the whole, Richard and Cuthbert Burbage; the
other four men, Shakespeare, John Heminges, Augustine Phillips, and
Thomas Pope, owned a single share.
Slide 8
The Globe Theatre was built because the lease on the original
Theatre, in London, was finished, so they decided to destroy that
theatre and build the Globe Theatre, using the Theatres original
wood.
Slide 9
The person who opened the Globe Theatre was Queen Elizabeth.
She opened the Globe Theatre because she enjoyed all of William
Shakespeares plays.
