Margaret Mitchell's greatest contribution to literature was her "Gone With the
Wind," which she began writing in 1926 and published in 1936. At the time of its
publication, the book sold more copies than any other American novel in literary
history. The story centers on the life and times of Scarlett O'Hara, a Southern
woman. Mitchell was awarded the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.
BUT…what do you do when your screenwriter hasn’t read the book you’re adapting into a movie? If you’re David O. Selznick, the producer of Gone With the Wind, you lock him in a room and act out the novel for him!
Moonlight and Magnolias is the somewhat true and completely hilarious account of the writing of the screenplay Gone With the Wind that will have you falling out of your seat with laughter!

William Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written early in the career of playwright William Shakespeare about two young star-
crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately unite their feuding families. It is among Shakespeare's most popular arche-
typal stories of young, teenage lovers.
Romeo and Juliet belongs to a tradition of tragic romances stretching back to antiquity. Its plot is based on an Ital-
ian tale, translated into verse as The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet by Arthur Brooke in 1562 and retold in
prose in Palace of Pleasure by William Painter in 1582. Shakespeare borrowed heavily from both but, to expand
the plot, developed supporting characters, particularly Mercutio and Paris. Believed written between 1591 and
1595, the play was first published in a quarto version in 1597. This text was of poor quality, and later editions cor-
rected it, bringing it more in line with Shakespeare's original.
Shakespeare's use of dramatic structure, especially effects such as switching between comedy and tragedy to
heighten tension, his expansion of minor characters, and his use of sub-plots to embellish the story, has been
praised as an early sign of his dramatic skill. The play ascribes different poetic forms to different characters, some-
times changing the form as the character develops. Romeo, for example, grows more adept at the sonnet over the
course of the play.

This riotous production has iambic
pentameter, of course, but also has
fist fights, punk rock, and oh, yes –
sex and death. The play has been
modified to just
ten actors and a brisk 90-minute
running time.

“Daffodils that come before the swallow dares, and takes the winds of March with beauty.” - William Shakespeare
The birth flower for March is daffodil. In the language of flowers, daffo-dils symbolize chivalry, respect, modesty and faithfulness.
Daffodils belong to the genus Narcissus. Daffodil is the common English name for them all, and Narcissus is the Latin, botanical name for them all. Some people refer to daffodils as "jonquils", from the Spanish name for the flower.
The name of the flower is derived from an earlier "affodell", a variant of asphodel. The reason for the introduction of the initial "d" is not known, though from at least the sixteenth century "Daffadown Dilly" or "daffadowndilly" has appeared as a playful synonym of the name. What a fancy March birth flower.
The name of March comes from ancient Rome, when March was the first month of the year and named Martius after Mars or Ares,
the Greek god of war.
Pi Day is a holiday commemorating the mathematical constant π (pi). Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 (or 3/14 in month/day date format), since 3, 1 and 4 are the three most significant digits of π in the decimal
form. In 2009, the United States House of Representatives
Supported the designation of Pi Day.
