Terahertz(THz)radia.on(1THz=4meV=300µm), isprobablythemostimportantpor.onoftheelectromagne.cspectrumintermsofmul.disciplinaryuseintechnologyandbasicscience.The TERA (THz-ERA)project financedby INFN through theCALL forresearch program is dedicated to an R&D ac.vity onTHztechnologywiththefollowinggoals:1)ThedevelopmentofahighlyintenseTHzsourcewithanassociatedelectricfieldof50MV/cm;2)Innova.veTHzdetectorsanddevices;3)THzaccelera.oncavi.es.Thesegoalsarethekeycomponentsrequiredtodevelopinthenearfuture an all-THz based compact accelerator and at the same .mearethemainselementsrequiredbythemul.-disciplinaryuseofTHzradia.onasdefinedbytheEuropeanTHzroadmap.
