Special Note Blend-in system to avoid a visible difference between the repair and surrounding areas:
a) Preparation: Sand surfacer (dry with P360-500 or with waterproof paper P600-800). Thoroughly sand surrounding areas not coated with surfacer using a fine sanding pad (3M 7448). Clean the entire surface well with Permahyd® Silicone Remover 7080 to remove all dust, sanding residues and other impurities. Remove excess Silicone Remover with a lint-free cloth, avoiding streaks. Allow wet-sanded and cleaned surfaces to dry completely.
b) Blend in system for metallics and solid colours: Apply a full coat of base coat to the surfaced area at ready-to-spray viscosity. Spray each coat a little further into the transition area, thus creating a dust coat ring around the repair. Spray the fade-out zone wider and blend in lightly with reduced pressure. After the appropriate final flash-off time, apply clear coat.

Important note: Major OEMs increasingly recommend the application of polyester putty not to bare steel, aluminium or galvanised steel but to a fully cured paint system. This avoids the possibility of corrosion between the polyester and the substrate. Suitable for application of polyester putty are OEM e-coat, OEM finish paint systems, fully cured 2K surfacers, clearcoats/topcoats and fully cured epoxy primer surfacer. We highly recommend that this procedure be followed when carrying out warranty repairs.

Technical Data Sheet
Permaloid® Silicone Remover 7010 Permaloid® Silicone Remover is a universal product specially designed to remove contaminants and release agents on all metals and plastics prior to painting. It displays an anti-static characteristic which will lessen dust and dirt attraction to the component.
For professional use only! VR Technical Data Sheet No. 7010/10/99-UK
7010/10/99-UK
Substrate
Suitable substrates: Old paintwork, sanded or fresh paintwork, bare metal and all Priomat® and Raderal® products. It is also suitable as an antistatic effect cleaner for all normal external plastic parts on motor vehicles (PP, EPDM, ABS, PC, PPD, PBTP, PA, GRP, R-TRU, PUR, PUR Soft).
Pre-treatment of plastic substrates:
The substrate must be free of all traces of release agent.
Soak a piece of clean lint free cloth in 7010, wipe over surface to be painted and wipe off whilst wet with another clean lint free cloth. Repeat as necessary until surface is thoroughly clean.
The amount of work involved in the cleaning will depend on how much releasing agent is still adhering to the plastic or residing in its pores. To enhance the cleaning effect we recommend using a sanding pad (3M 7448). Allow the reducer to evaporate thoroughly (e.g. air drying overnight at ambient temperature or temper for 30 - 40 minutes at 40 ºC).
In the case of PUR softfoam however, warm the part for 60 mins at 40 ºC prior to cleaning to allow the release agent to sweat. Then clean 5 times using fresh Permaloid® Silicone Remover 7010. Allow the Remover to evaporate thoroughly. (e.g. air dry at room temperature or warm for 30 - 40 minutes at 40 ºC).
Prior to priming clean lightly once more with Permaloid® Silicone Remover 7010 (antistatic effect). Ensure surface is clean and dry before priming.
Special Hints
1.) On previously painted surfaces do not over saturate as this may cause the surface to soften.
2.) Use only clean lint free cloths.
