Instructions for applying SIGMACOVER 350 medium to heavy duty floor paint
Minimum application conditions
Minimum air and surface temperature for coating is 5°C.Ensure that substrates are cured and dry with maximum moisture content of 4%. To avoid intercoat adhesion problems and lossof gloss during the drying period keep temperature 3°C above the dew point during the application of the system.
Cleanliness of the floor
Concrete with a trowelled surface will give the best overall appearance. Surface should be clean and dry. Light abrasive blasting or grinding is recommended to remove all chalk, surface glaze and laitance on bare concrete. Remove all surface dust and debris by vacuum cleaning. Where there are existing coatingscompatibility and soundness should be checked prior to coating to determine best course of preparation/application.
Application equipment
SIGMACOVER 350 should be thoroughly mixed using a power mixer. Uniform coverage of SIGMACOVER 350 is best achieved by pour & roll application. Small areas can be applied by brush.
Application instructions
Mix the resin and cure components of SIGMACOVER 350 with a power mixer adding 10% by volume of Thinner 91-92 (uncoated concrete only) to assist penetration. Pour and roll onto the floor surface to obtain an average coverage of 6 m2 per litre. Once the 1st coat of SIGMACOVER 350 has cured for 6 hours at 20°C, mix the resin and cure of the 2nd coat of SIGMACOVER 350, without thinning, then pour and roll onto the floor surface, to finish the paint system, at an average coverage of 5.5 m2 per litre.
Coverage rate
Primer coat 6 sqm/l*.Finish coat 5.5 sqm.l litre*.
* Coverage rates typical for this system. Uneven surfaces will consume more material.
Drying times before useAllow the complete system to dry for 24 hours at 20°Cbefore light traffic exposure.
