Schools & Colleges DayWednesday 15th September

You and your students are invited to Britain’s largest festival of boating to explore the world of marine! Lots of information and fun activities are available to inform your students about the exciting world of leisure on the water.

The show provides a fantastic platform to see all things boating up close and personal. There are plenty of opportunities to learn about everyday life in the marine industry, gain invaluable advice about how to start your career, and have a go at getting out on the water.

The brand new On The Water Zone is a must-visit attraction and provides a great opportunity to try various watersports, such as dinghy sailing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), under the safe and watchful eyes of Rockley Watersports – all included with your show tickets.

We recommend booking in advance, please contact 0120 267 7272 or [email protected] and the Rockley team will be able to let you know what can be provided, what you’ll need to bring with you, and how we will accommodate your group.

Our signature Try A Boat feature is returning to the show once again and is suitable for visitors of all abilities, whether gliding through the waters in a high-speed RIB or floating across the Solent under sail. Boat slots operate on a first-come-first-served basis so booking early at the festival entrance is advised.

Cleaning up: Southampton community paddles the River Itchen ahead of Southampton International Boat ShowLocal volunteers took to the River Itchen as part of a mass paddleboard clean-up to help turn the tide on plastic in the surrounding waters.

Southampton City Council leaders joined a mix of experienced and first-time paddlers on the water to collect litter, which was a joint initiative between organisers of Southampton

International Boat Show, British Marine, and one of the Show’s official charity partners, Planet Patrol.

Volunteers collected a variety of rubbish and logged what they had found via an app that analyses the litter, helping Planet Patrol better understand where it is coming from to hold brands accountable.
