PRESIDENT’S REPORT March 2020

These last few months have beenvery difficult for everyone. The Covid19 pandemic struck very quickly andaffected the world in ways not seenbefore. We are lucky here in Australiathat due to early and strictinterventions, we have not sufferedthe losses we see in many othercountries.

RAS had to adjust as well. Wesuspended most activities for 2020,including our Monday Art Studiomeetings, our planneddemonstrations and workshops, aswell as our May 2020 annualexhibition at Little Bay.

What we do and how we do it isdifferent, but we are still here. Yourcommittee has continued to work tokeep you connected by setting up the‘RAS Online Art Projects’ on ourwebsite.

The RAS website now offers two‘Sketch-A-Day’ galleries; one startedin April, “Assortments” and a secondbegan in May, “Out and About”.In June 2020, we set up an online

Craft Gallery for our members, andan online Portrait Gallery page forinterested members to submit theirportraits (paintings, mixed media, craft, sculpture, photographs, etc.),including self-portraits, portraits ofothers, and pet portraits.
