k. Makesurethetransmitterlatchisdown(againstyourbody).Squeezethecenteroftheribbedtabsonthesidesofthesensorpod.Rocktheapplicatorbarrelforwardandoutawayfromyourbody.

Attaching Your Transmitter:a. Cleanthebackofyourtransmitterwithanalcoholwipe.Letdry.b. Placethetransmitterinthesensorpod(with

theflatsidedown,andthinnersideawayfromthetransmitterlatch).

c. Placeonefingeronthetransmittertokeepitinplace.Withyourotherhand,pullthetransmitterlatchupandforwarduntilyouhear2 clicks.

pumpinfusionsetorinjectionsiteandoutofthewayofyourwaistband.Avoidareasthatarelikelytobebumpedorpushedorareasofyourskinwithscarring,tattoosorirritation.Insertinthebelly(frontofbody,optionA)ortheupperbuttocks(backofbody,optionB).

b. Cleanyourskinatthesensorplacementsitewithanalcoholwipe.Letdry.c. Ifyouuseanoptionalskinpreparationoradhesiveproduct,placeiton

theskinina“doughnut”shapewhereyouwillplacethesensoradhesivepatch.Insertthesensorthroughthecleanskinatthecenterofthedoughnutwhereitisfreeofskinpreparationoradhesiveproducts.Letdry(skinmayfeelslightlytacky).

d.Removethesensorfromitspackaging.e. Removetheadhesivebackingfromthesensorpodone

halfatatime.

f. Placethesensorhorizontally,NOTvertically,onyourskin.Moveyourfingersaroundtheadhesivepatchtosecurethetapetoyourskin.

g. Holdtheapplicator,andpullthesafetylockstraightoutawayfromtheapplicator,inthedirectionofthearrowsinthepicture.Savethesafetylocktohelpyouremovethetransmitterattheendofyoursensorsession.

Removethetransmitterlatchwiththeotherhandbyquicklytwistingoffthelatchawayfromyourbody.

Step 5Starting Your Sensor SessionOnceyouhaveinsertedthesensorandattachedthetransmitter,youneedtostartthesensorsessiononyourreceiver.a. Fromanytrendgraph,presstheSELECTbuttontogettotheMainMenu.b. PresstheDOWNbuttontohighlight“StartSensor.”

PresstheSELECTbutton.TheStartSensor“thinking”screenwillletyouknowyoursensor2-hourstartupperiodhasbegun.

c. Thisscreenwillappeareachtimeyoustartanewsensorsession.PresstheSELECTbuttontoclearthescreen.

d. Checkyourreceiver10minutesafterstartingyoursensorsessiontomakesureyourreceiverandtransmitterarecommunicating.Theantennasymbol( )shouldbeintheupperleftcornerofthetrendgraph.Iftheoutofrangesymbol( )showsintheupperrightcornerofthetrendgraphinstead,seetheDexcomG4PLATINUM(Pediatric)SystemUser’sGuideformoreinformation.

Step 3Setting Your Alert ProfileYoucanchoosereceiver“alertprofiles”withdifferentsoundsandvolumestofityourneeds.Youralertprofileoptionsare:

“Vibrate”canbeusedwhenyouwanttosilencethereceiverandbealertedbyvibration.Underthisprofilethefixedlowalarmat55mg/dLwillmakeasound.Itwillalertyouasavibrationfirst,followedbyaudiblebeeps5minuteslaterifnotconfirmed.

“Soft”canbeusedwhenyouwantyouralerttobediscreet.Thissetsallthealertsandalarmstolowervolumebeeps.

“Normal”isthedefault.Thissetsallthealertsandalarmstohighervolumebeeps.

Setup Wizard: PresstheSELECTbuttontoturnthereceiveron.TheSetupWizardwillwalkyouthroughthestepstosetyourTime/Date,TransmitterIDandLow/HighAlerts.The Setup Wizard will only start when you set up your Dexcom G4 PLATINUM (Pediatric) Receiver with Share for the first time.

Step 2Setting Up Your DeviceActivating Your Transmitter:Takethetransmitteroutofitstrayandwait10minutesforitto“turnon.”

Charging Your Receiver:ChargetheDexcomG4PLATINUM(Pediatric)ReceiverwithSharefullybeforeyoubegin.Afullchargecantakeupto5hoursandwilllastabout3days.OpentheUSBportcovertochargeyourreceiver.Keep the USB port cover closed when receiver is not being charged. Therearetwowaysyoucanchargeyourreceiver:a. PlugtheUSBcableintotheACpoweradapter.Thenplug

thisadapterintoanACpoweroutlet(suchasawalloutlet),andplugtheotherendofthecableintoyourreceiver.

OR b.PlugtheUSBcableintoyourcomputer,and

plugtheotherendofthecableintoyourreceiver.YoumustinstallDexcomSTUDIO™

softwarefirst.Thebatterychargingscreenwillappearfirst.Afterafewseconds,thebatterychargingsymbolwillshowintheupperleftcornerofthe3-hour

trendgraph(homescreen).Whenthereceiverisfullycharged,thebatterychargingsymbolwillbecompletelygray.NOTE: Youwillkeepgettingsensorglucosereadingswhilethereceiverischargingduringasensorsession.ALowBatterywarningonthereceiverwillalertyouwhenitneedstobecharged.

Setting Your Alert Profile (continued)“Attentive”canbeusedwhenyouwantyouralerttobenoticeable.Thissetsallthealertsandalarmstoloudandwithdistinctivemelodies.

“HypoRepeat”canbeusedwhenyouwantextraalertsforseverelowsensorglucosereadings.Thisprofileislikethenormalprofile,butitwillkeeprepeatingthefixedlowalarmevery5secondsuntilconfirmedoruntilyoursensorglucosereadingrisesabove55mg/dL.

Usethe“TryIt”featureundertheProfilesoptionintheMainMenutohearanexampleofeachalertprofile.Followthesestepstosetyouralertprofile:a. Fromanytrendgraph,presstheSELECTbuttontoget

totheMainMenu.b. PresstheDOWNbuttontohighlight“Profiles.”Pressthe

SELECTbutton.c. PresstheUPorDOWNbuttontohighlightthealertprofileyouwant

touse.

d. PresstheSELECTbutton.A willappeartotherightoftheprofileyouchose.

NOTE: Nomatterwhatprofileyouset,allalertsandalarmswillnotifyyoubyvibratingfirst.Therewillbenobeepifyouconfirmthealertoralarmafterthefirstvibration.

Step 4Inserting the SensorBeforeyoubegin,makesureyouhaveyourtransmitter,receiver,sensor,andalcoholwipes.Skinpreparationoradhesiveproducts(Mastisol®,SkinTac™)areoptional.Washyourhandsthoroughly,anddrythem.
