DynamicGridEnhancements

Severalenhancementshavebeenaddedtodynamicgridsinthelatestrelease.Thesenewenhancementsaredesignedtomakeiteasiertouseandmanagedataindynamicgridswhenworkingwithmultipleusersorlargesetsofcomplexdatainacollaborativeprocess.

DynamicGridEnhancementSetupThenewdynamicgridenhancementsaresetuptobeenabledandcontrolledbyadministratorsusingtheexistingdynamicgridpropertieswhenconfiguringdynamicgridsonprocesspagelayouts.Thisenablesfinegraincontrolovertheavailabilityofthenewfeaturesdowntospecificpagelayoutsallowingyoutomakefeaturesavailableornotindifferentstagesofyourprocessworkflow.

YoucanaccessandconfigurethenewdynamicgridenhancementsthroughManageProcessintheaccountsetupsectionbynavigatingtoSetup>>Processes>>ManageProcesses.Onceontheprocessdetailpage,accessthePageLayouttabandpickthespecificLayoutName.

1. FromtheViewLayoutPage,clicktheeditbutton.2. Selectthedynamicgridandright-clicktobringuptheEditFieldPropertiesmenu.3. ClickontheEditFieldPropertiesmenu.TheEditSectionFieldspopwindowwillappear.As

shownbelow.


Ifyouarefamiliarwiththiswindow,youwillnoticethatthereare5newoptionswhichallowyoutocontroltheuseofthenewdynamicgridenhancements.Thenewoptionsarelistedhereforreference.Additionaldetailsonthecapabilitiesofthesefeaturescanbefoundbelowinthedocument.

• AllowDatatobeExported• AllowDatatobeOverwritten• EnableColumnSorting• EnableRowInsertAt• EnableRowDrag&Drop


Simplyselecttheoptionsusingthecheckboxtoenableordisablethenewfeaturesonthespecificpagelayoutthatyouareediting.

DynamicGridDataExportYoucannowallowuserstodownloadthedatathatiscurrentlyinadynamicgrid.Thisprovidesadditionalflexibilityforuserstoedit,updateoraddrowdataofflineusingspreadsheettoolslikeMicrosoftExcel.YoucanthenusethiswiththenewImport/Updatecapabilitydetailedbelowtoupdateinformationinthegridfromthespreadsheet.Youcanenablethisfeaturebycheckingthe“AllowDatatobeExported”checkbox.

Whenthiscapabilityisenabled,userswillseeanoptiontodownloadVisibleLineItemswhentheyclickontheDownloadbuttonasshowhere:

Thedownloadvisiblelineitemscapabilityisintelligentandworksinconjunctionwiththefiltercapabilitiesinthedynamicgrid.Bydefault,ifnofiltersareset,thiswilldownloadallrowsofdatainthedynamicgrid.Iftheuseriscurrentlyusingafilteronthedynamicgrid,thedownloadvisiblelinescapabilitywillonlydownloadtherowsthatarecurrentlyvisibletotheuser.Thisprovidesflexibilitytoworkwiththespecificdatadesired.

ImportUpdatestoDynamicGridsDynamicgridscannowsupportimportingupdatesandchangestoexistingrowsofdatainthegrid.Alongwiththenewexportcapability,thisprovidesaflexibleandeasywaytoupdateandeditdataofflineinExcelandthenimportthechangesintothedynamicgrid.Ifnewrowsofdataareaddedinthespreadsheet,theywillbeaddedasnewrowsduringtheimportprocess.Existingrowsthatareupdatedofflineinthespreadsheetwillbeupdatedwiththenewvalueswhenimported.


Toutilizethisfeature,youwillneedtocheckthe“AllowDatatobeOverwritten”checkboxinthedynamicgridpropertiesonthepagelayout.

SortingDynamicGridsbyColumnValuesDynamicgridsnowsupporttheabilitytoallowsortingbasedonaselectedcolumnvalue.Likeothergridsine-Builder,ifsortingisenabledonthegridinthepagelayout,userscanclickonthecolumnheadertosortthegridbasedonthecolumnvalueineitherascendingordescendingorder.Thiscapabilityneedstobeenabledonthepagelayoutbycheckingthe“EnableColumnSorting”checkboxonthedynamicgridproperties.

Note:columnsthatcontainmultipledatavaluesdonotsupportsorting.

InsertNewRowinaDynamicGridYounowcaninsertanewrowintoanexistingdynamicgridtocontroltheorderinwhichtheitemisdisplayed.Previously,theonlyoptionavailablewastoaddanewrow,whichwasautomaticallyaddedatthebottomofthegrid.UsersnowcaninsertanewrowaboveanexistingrowinthedynamicgridbyclickingonthedownarrowintheAddbutton.Clickingthedownarrowwillprovideapopupwindowallowingtheusertoenterarownumberthatthenewrowshouldbeinsertedaboveasshownbelow.

Thiscapabilitycanbeenabledbycheckingthe“EnableInsertRowAt”checkboxinthedynamicgridpropertiesonapagelayout.


Clickingthearrowallowsyoutoinsertanewrowaboveanexistingrow.

Re-orderRowsUsingDrag&DropDynamicgridscannowsupportre-orderingofthedisplayofrowsusingdraganddrop.Thisprovidesasimpleandintuitivewaytochangethedisplayorderoftherowsinthedynamicgrid.Userscanclickanddragthefirstcolumncellonarowandmoveitupordowninthegrid.Whenthemousebuttonisrelease,therowspositionwillbechangedinthegriddisplay.

Thiscapabilitycanbeenabledbycheckingthe“EnableRowDrag&Drop”checkboxinthedynamicgridpropertiesonthepagelayout.

Note:changingthedisplayorderofrowswillnotchangeorupdatedthe#columnoftherow.Therow#valueispreservedfortrackingandhistorypurposes.Onlythedisplayorderoftherowsisupdated.

DocumentContentSearchEnhancementsAnewdocumentparsingandindexingtechnologyisbeingdeployedine-Builderthatwillsignificantlyimproveandenhancesearchresultswhensearchingforcontentinsidedocumentsthatarestoredine-Builder.Therearenochangestothewaythatyoucurrentlysearchforcontentindocuments.Youwillseethesamesearchboxandthecapabilitiestotargetsearchestospecificprojectsandcomponentsaswellasdefinespecificdocumentcustomfieldvalueswillbethesame.

ThemaindifferencethatyouwillnoticeisthatthesearchresultsforcontentinDocuments,shouldgreatlyimprove.Withthenewenhancementsyoucanexpectthefollowingbenefits:
