duplicates and marking of non-

duplicates.

Data Quality Management (DQM) - Concept

How is party information stored?

Representation of party data

• All eligible party attributes

transformed using

transformation rules

• Transformed data stored in

standard staging schema

How does the search work?

Matching of party data

• Search criteria transformed

using transformation rules

• Transformed data compared

against standard staging schema

• Matching rows are scored

Data Quality Management (DQM) - Search

Merging

• Party Merge and Account Merge functionalities part of DQM

• Supplier merging capabilities come with AP

• Merging is a concept for cleaning up duplicates. Merger and acquisition

activities do not necessarily imply merge activity in Oracle E-Business

suite. From a technical point of view these are not duplicates

• References to parties and accounts updated when parties or accounts

are merged. Target party replaces source party in all affected entities e.g.

moving purchase orders from source to target supplier

• Once a merge is completed, it cannot be undone

• Needs thorough testing as it has dependencies on many modules
