OverviewOverview Our Schools Program seeks to engage students
in hands-on and minds-on learning experiences aligned to California’s content
standards.
• Connect youth to Lake Tahoe / their surroundings• Engage students in their own learning using inquiry-based
and hands-on approaches to teaching • Educate in and outside of the classroom

Learning can be enhanced through:
• Orientation to setting
• Clear learning objectives

Continue to expand the Schools Program– Develop grade level specific modules and
continue to refine in-class and field trip experiences

– Continue opportunistic strategy of working with all interested K – 12 teachers

• Logging and other uses of the Lake (e.g. Tourism, ice, mail)

– Majority of teachers are interested in in-class presentations + fieldtrips to Museum
