Vw not, then, plan t o come t h i s y e s , and meet the f ellovie (and g i r l s , we hope) whose "Musings" and "Dialings" you have been reading about weakly m i n g the DX season just concluded? We can promise you t h i s - you ' l l never be sor ry you cme, f o r a welcome rug - not mat - is out f o r you. We remind you again tha t i t makes not a pa r t i c l e of difference whether you have just joined the National lZadi6 Club, o r whether you have been a member f o r a l l of our 17 years, . o r even if you a rd-not y e t a member - you w i l l be weloome, and so w i l l your family and friends. summer months, but mst don1 t DX so frequently during t h i s pa r t of the year. It is, fo r most, a time qvhen thqy send out t h e i r follow-ups to s ta t ions which did not reply on t h e i r o r ig ina l reports. NOW of course, t h i s gets our goats - our time and postage' have gone by tho boards, and wo are a b i t i r r i t a t ed . But how good we f e e l when we & get a ver i f icat ion from a previously delinquent station*! Now - how to get these de- linquent s ta t ions to verify f o r us? The best - and only - way i s to send a friaridly, l e t t e r to those s ta t ions , and keep thm4 friandly a l l the way. I f you shduld w6ite.a l e t t e r which would not f i t in to a ~ c h a category, you inm.ediately cause tha t s t a t i on to resent it, an9 also you endanger your chances of ever get t ing tha t ver i f ica t ion which i a what you r e d l y want, a f t e r all: Not on* tbt, but you m a g ru in the o h a n ~ e of any other DXer's ever ge t t ing a verificatiorl from tha t s t a t i on too. Surely none of you would w a n t t o be caught wri t ing such a f e t t e r ; f o r hediately. all your fellow DXera would remember you a s the one who spoiZed the i r chances of get t ing a G h - c o k eted verifioation!
