THE INTERIOR SPACES WERE DESINGED TO HAVE ALOT OF OPEN SPACE. I WANT THE VISITOR TO FEEL AS IF HE WERE STILL IN THE OUTDOORS. MY APROACH IS TO ALLOW VISIBILE ACCES TO THE OUTSIDE. IN THE CENTER AREA A SUN ROOF ALLOWS NATURAL LIGHT IN THE SPACE. A WIDE WINDOW PRESENT A BEUTIFULL VIEW OF THE LAKE AND WEEPING WILLOWS IN THE .DISTANCETHE ENTRANCE IS ADORNED WITH GREEK CORNICE AND PILLASTERS TO SYMBOLIZE CLASS.
THE OFFICES ARE DESINGED WITH LONG DOUBLE HUNG WINDOWS.EACH LAYOUT WITH ACCES VIEW TO THE PATH. THE EXHIBITION SPACE COMPLETELY OPEN. THE LARGE COLLUMS HOLD UP THE STRUCTURE AND ALLOW FOR AESTITICALLY PLEASING SHADES AND SHADOWS.

THE GWENDOLEN NATURE CENTER THE CENTER IS DESIGNED TO BE PERMANENT. LARGE PIECES OF STONE HOLDS THE STRUCTURE TOGETHER. IT IS DESIGNED WITH A RECREATIONAL AREA .
THE NATURE CENTER SITS ON A HILL. THE PATH LEADING TO THE LOCATION FOLLOWS THE APPROPRIATE CONTOURS TOO ALLOW PROGRES-SIVE INCREASE IN ALTITUDE.
THE PATH WAS PURPOSELY DESIGNED TO ALLOT THE PUBLIC TO SURVEY THE AREA. A SHORTCUT TO THE STRUCTURE IS ALSO AVAILABLE.

PROSPECT INTRIGUE LAYOUT
MAURICE HEDEYA ASKED ME TO RE DESIGN HIS IPO PACKAGE. THE IPO PACKAGE IS A 7 PAGES, WHICH INCLUDE AN INTRODUCTION TO OUR PRODUCT, INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION SHEETS AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS.
THE ORIGINAL IPO PACKAGE SET LACK OF IDENTITY. THE LAYOUT OF EACH PAGE WAS VERY DIFFERENT AND INCOHESIVE. REPEAT OF INFORMATION AND EVEN MISSING IDENTIFYING LOGOS.
USING ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR TO DESIGN THE LAYOUT, QUICKLY DECIDED ALL PAGES NEEDED TO HAVE THE COMPANY LOGO IN THE SAME FORMAT ON THE SAME LOCATION, ON ALL THE SHEETS. SECONDLY I CHOSE A SELECTION OF TEXTS TO USE ALL THROUGHOUT THE IPO PACKAGE. THE GARAMOUND AND AERIAL NARROW DID IT JUSTICE.
SECONDLY I CHOOSE A SCALE OF TEXT AND LAYOUT TO REPEAT ITSELF ALONG THE WHOLE IPO PACKAGE. I KEPT 1.5” MARGIN ON EITHER SIDES OF THE INTRODUCTORY SHEETS AND BROAD-ENED THE PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS SHEETS.
AS FOR THE INSTALLATION INSTRUC-TIONS SHEETS I DECIDED TO CLEAN UP PHOTOGRAPHS IN ADOBE PHOTOSHOP. THEN EXPORT THEM AND ADD FINISHES IN ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS3. I USED AUTO CAD TO CREATE A TECHNICAL DRAWING OF THE PROD-UCT. I EXPORTED THE IMAGE TO A JPEG THE ADDED FINISHES TO IT IN ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS3

DUE PROCESS SPECIAL ATTENTION WAS GIVEN TO THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. I USED A DIGITAL CAMERA TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE PRODUCT. I USED ADOBE PHOTO-SHOP TO CROP, DETAIL, CHANGE COLOR AND CONTRAST OF EACH PICTURE. ONCE CONVERTED TO JPEG’S THE IMAGES COULD BE IMPORTED TO ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR TO BE DESCRIBED AND NUMBERED.
THE PRODUCT SCALE WAS USED TO KEEP A GOOD PROPORTION
ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS3 ALLOWED ME TO ALIGN INFORMATION FOR A MORE PROFESSIONAL DOCUMENT. PROPER ALIGNMENT IMPROVES THE LEGIBILITY OF THE INFORMATION. I USED THE GRID LINES COMMAND AND THE RULER COMMAND TO SEPARATE THE INFORMATION INTO EQUALLY DISTANCED NODS. SECONDLY THE USE OF LAYERS IN THE ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS3, ALLOWED ME TO ORGANIZE INFORMATION AND DETAIL FURTHER THE JPEG’S. FINALLY WHEN PRINTING THE FILES I USED THE PRINT PDF COMMAND WITH A CMYK COLOR CHOICE SINCE I WILL BE USING THESE SHEETS AS PRINTOUTS.

CREATING DETAILS: THIS PROJECT REQUIRED PROPER ANALISIS OF THE EXISTING CONDITIONS OF THE LASNDMARKED BUILDING. I VISITED THE SITE TO PRFORM A FIELD SURVEY , BY DOCMENTING THE INFORMATION AND RESEARCH I WAS ABLE TO LEARN ABOU THE METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION IN THE 1980’S . A STONE AND MASONRY BUILDING LIKE THE KINGS COUNTY SAVINGS BANK HAS LARGE SYSTEMS WHICH KEEP WATER AND ALL NATURAL FORCES OUT OF THE BULDING. DUE TO YEARS OF DETERIORATION AND POOR MAINTENANCE THESE SYSTEMS BEGAN TO FAIL.
MANY PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. MY PART IN THIS IS TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM , EXAMINER THE CURRWENT CONDITIONS AND DESING A DETAIL THAT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM. WHEN DRAWING THE DETAIL I NEED ED TO MATCH SERTAINF MATERIALS AND STREWNGHTS. I NEEDED TO MAINTAIL THE BUILDING CARISMA BY UTILISING SIMILAR MATERIALS. FOR THE DETAILS ABOVE THE SYSTEMS ARE BEING IMPROVED NOT CHANGED . THIS ALLOWS US TO REHABILITATE THE BUILDING.

COURSE AR411 THE ASSIGNMENT WAS TO FABRICATE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT FOR A BROWN STONE HOUSE WERE RENOVATING. THE CLIENTS WERE MR. AND MS SMITH. THEY RECENTLY MOVED FROM LA AND WERE LOOKING TO RENOVATE THE PLACE . WE WERE HANDED RUFFS OF THE PLANS AND ELEVATIONS THE MAIN FOCUS WAS UNDERSTANDING HOW PLANS AND ELEVATIONS ARE READ AND HOW THEY ARE TO BE CREATED FOR EASY READ. THE PROGRAM WE USED WAS AUTO CAD 2009. IN THIS PROGRAM WE WERE TO BECOME FAMILIAR FOR OVER 50 COMMANDS AND THEIRS SHORT CUT. WE WENT OVER LAYERS , LINE WEIGHTS, FONT, DIMENSIONING, CREATING BLOCKS AND SYMBOLS, CREATING HATCHES, AND SCALING DRAWINGS. THERE WAS A STDARD TITTLE BLOCK WHICH INCLUDED SHEET NUMBERS ARCHITECT , OWNER , AND CONTRAC-TOR INFORMATION. THE SCALE AND DATE OF THE PROJECT WAS DENOTED FOR REFRENCE BY THE CONTRAC-TOR. FINALLY WE WENT THOUGH THE PROCESS OF CREATING A PRINT DOCUMENT IN PAPER SPACE WITH PROPER SHEET SIZES, LINE WEIGHTS AND LAYER MANIPULATION.
