I. THE PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
Amasya Technological Sciences Vocational High School
Automotive Technologies Program aims to bring up
technical personnel who know and internalize the
terminologies and concepts of automotive
technologies, have the skills of knowing and applying
the needed new systems, to solve vehicle maintenance
and reparation problems, meet the needs of the sector
rapidly , to maintain, repair and process the working
and equipped system and to work in the processing,
designing and preparation systems including quality
security.
II. TECHNICAL BACKGROUND AND
LABORATORIES
There are 12 diesel motors, 3 gasoline motors, 3
automatic transmissions, 2 manual transmissions,
equipment belonging to automotive electric and
electronics, all equipment needed for vehicle
reparation-maintenance, an oil discharging pump, a
2.5 ton electromechanic vehicle lift in the Automative
Technology Program.
General vehicle reparation-maintenance activities are
carried out in our department.
Our department projects are increasing and improving
in quality and success rates. Such projects include as
go-karts, electrical vehicles and gasoline vehicles
which completed in previous years. However, bio-diesel
generation, electric energy generation from wind
power, lawn mowing machines and electrical cars are
continving projects.
In our department, the students are informed in detail
about welding machines, hardness measuring, diverse
metal microscopes and surface roughness measuring
tension test equipments.
Moreover, the 700 m2 automotive workshop is under
construction and will have all the equipment that is
needed for authorized vehicle service.
III. WORKING AREAS OF AUTOMOTIVE
TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM GRADUATES
Automotive technicians may work nearly all stages of
main and subsidiary industry automotive factories
under the label and responsibility of technicians.
However, they are seen in high number in the
automotive montage lines and have active roles in
manufacturing studies, they provide communication
and connection between engineers, organizers,
managers and workers, and they are placed as team
leaders in the quality circle, they take responsibility as
instructors in educational activities in a workplace of
lower level workers.
In our department, technical trips/tours are arranged
and organized so that the students can follow the
developing and changing improvements and by this
way it is aimed to contribute to the students' mission
and vision.
Beside the production, another part of the automotive
sector that needs attention consist of services, point of
sales and education centers which can be named as
after sale service units. The responsibility of
automotive technicians in these units is because of the
transition of serial production to lean production,
customer based quality, and the occurrence of sale
principles.
They work and take responsibility in these units such as
group leader service management, sale group
leadership, spare parts, service workshop
management, and personnel education fields. In brief;
IV. THE VERTICAL TRANSFER FIELDS THAT
GRADUATES MAY APPLY TO
