Teend-point o attaining this certication was passing a rigorous examo 200 intensive questions with a score o 170 or better. But a loto concentrated eort was involved along the way establishingproessional eligibility, classroom time in Philadelphia, and monthso intense independent study.
Te LEED Green Building rating system is the internationally
accepted benchmark or the design, construction and operation ogreen buildings. Tere are dierent levels o certication LEEDCertied, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Te level o certication isdetermined by a point system that ranks the environmental impacto various things such as energy efciency, material composition, material use and waste, etc. It is now common practice orconscientious developers, building owners and government agenciesto require construction companies to design to this standard in orderto compete or their projects.
How can speciying MFG Water reatment Products help builderstoward LEED certication? According to Chris Stebnisky, I youare designing to achieve LEED credits on a building project, it is
important to understand the sections, credits and products thatare impacted by materials choices. Speciying ber glass reinorcedplastic (FRP) materials can help you to quali y or credits within theLEED rating system. With the knowledge that we have about howour products contribute to reducing environmental impacts, we canhelp customers at the design stage o their projects.
Tese are a ew ways that MFG Water reatment Products helpearn points:
Reducedlifecyclemaintenanceandrepaircostsbecauseitislonger lasting and renewable materials require ewer resourcesor replacement.
Uniquemanufacturingprocessallows or actory-applied colorand delivers a quality nish virtually eliminating the VOCsthat occur during painting.
LowthermalconductivityofFRPreduces energy consumption orheating and cooling when used in
building structures.

As part o our sales growth strategy, it was our intention to have aLEED-certied teammate at WP to aid customers in the designphases o their projects, said Dennis Vorse, general manager o MF
Water reatment Products. In addition, we also saw the benet osupporting continuous improvements in our own processes, materiachoices and work environment.
