Clothing & Shoe Drive for St. Andre Bessette
The Knights of Columbus and Mary Davidson are sponsoring a
month long clothing drive in support of the Homeless Hospitality
Mission of Portland’s downtown St. Andre Bessette Catholic
Church. While all adult clothing is welcome, St. Andre is
especially in need of men’s clothing of all sizes. Pants and
shoes are the greatest need. Underwear and hygiene items (such
as tooth brushes, complimentary soaps and creams) are also
welcome. There will be a St. Andre Bessette barrel in the
Narthex during the month of May. Your generous donations will
be delivered weekly to St Andre. You may obtain a tax donation
form from St. Andre; simply leave a request in the Knights of
Columbus distribution box in the parish administration office.
Thank you for your generous support.
Reflections by Art Schulte Oh, My God, on your love and kindness we can always depend. They give our spiritual life a positive trend. Our prayer is to reach the eternal life you promised To those who obey your ten commands. Grant us the grace to faithfully fulfill their respective demands.
First 1000 Days
A Catholic Culture of Life Initiative Sunday May 14, 2017
Day 791 To be a good father and mother requires that the parents defer
many of their own needs and desire in favor of their children. As a consequence of their sacrifice, conscientious parents develop a
nobility of character and learn to put into practice the selfless truths taught by the Savior himself.
Catholic Charities 2017 Annual Campaign Theme: Finding the face of Jesus in each other
Mother Teresa came to value the poor not because of what they
could do or produce, not because of their job or credentials, but
because they radiated the image of God. Catholic Charities and
its member agencies strive to see the face of Christ in each of the
100,000 individuals we serve across Western Oregon each year.
But, we are only able to do this because of YOU and the care,
concern, and generosity for our communities and our neighbors
that flows from your heart. Your gift to the Catholic Charities’
2017 Annual Campaign allows us to provide meaningful help to
the most vulnerable in our community.
Whether it’s a program serving people who are homeless in
Portland, reuniting broken families in Salem, helping pregnant
mothers living in poverty to get back on their feet in Eugene,
protecting the dignity of refugees and immigrants statewide, or
providing emergency assistance to thousands, our Church’s
charitable agencies represent all of us in service to others.
Our special collection will be on May 20th & 21st. To donate
online, please go to www.CatholicCharitiesOregon.org or call
503-688-2656.
hacia nuestra comunidad y vecinos.
www.CatholicCharitiesOregon.org o llame al: 503-688-2656.
