WHAT IS COMMUNICATION?
Communication can be defined as theprocess by which people share ideas,experience, knowledge and feelingsthrough the transmission of symbolicmessages.
The means of communication areusually spoken or written words, pictures orsymbols. But we also give information
through body language, gestures, andlooks, facial expressions can show how wefeel and what we think about an issue oranother person.

FORMAL COMMUNICATION In formal communication,
certain rules, conventions andprinciples are followed whilecommunicating message.Formal communication occursin formal and official style.
Usually professional settings,corporate meetings,conferences undergoes informal pattern.
In formal communication, use of
slang and foul language isavoided and correctpronunciation is required.Authority lines are needed to befollowed in formal
communication.

INFORMAL COMMUNICATION
Informal communication isdone using channels that arein contrast with formalcommunication channels. Its
just a casual talk. It isestablished for societalaffiliations of members in anorganization and face-to-face discussions. It happens
among friends and family. Ininformal communication useof slang words, foullanguage is not restricted.

GROUP COMMUNICATION
Group communication refers to communication
between 3 or more individuals. Small group
communication includes numbers from 3 to
about 20 people, and large groupcommunication includes numbers larger than
that.

Physical noise occurswhen the sender andreceiver try tocommunicate in a
situation that is noisy For example, the bus
stop. The noiseproduced by the
passing buses createwhat is known asphysical noise.

Technical noise occurswhen the sender and thereceiver use a tool tocommunicate for example,a phone.
When 2 people arecommunicating using thephone, and one personsteps into an elevator, thesignal will be lost and the

Psychological noise occurs when the

message itself.
