A century old legacy to be Ahead of Time Though the group was founded in 1969 by Ramniklal Shah, an educationist, the seed of redefining values was sown by his father the late Zaveribhai Shah.
Founded on principles of Trust and Transparency Walking on the footsteps of the father, Ramniklal Shah too redefined values when he founded Marathon Group in 1969. A teacher by profession, Ramniklal Shah would stick to his principles of truth and fairness.
He laid foundations of Marathon Group on Transparency and Trust. Innovation, for him, has always been the keystone of Marathon Group ever since its inception.

At Marathon Group innovations do not happen by accident, they have mastered the skill of innovations to the extent that it has become a habit.
The Marathon Group is credited with developing the first building to have a helipad on its top (Marathon Heights, Worli, 1997).

PERI technology
PERI Table technology ensuring structural uniformity in high rise buildings have become benchmark in the construction Industry. This technology has been implemented in Marathon Futurex, Lower Parel in 2009
Fibre Reinforced Stucco Paints
To make the exterior more durable the Marathon Group has been using Fibre Reinforced Stucco paint, which is flexible as it expands to heat and contracts during cold conditions without cracking.
BENCHMARK
1972 Marathon built Marathon Poonam, one of the first 7 storey buildings in Mulund with a lift. Till then lift as an essential utility in buildings was not common in eastern suburbs of Mumbai.
1922 Marathon Group's patriarch – the late Zaverbhai Ramji Shah-planned and executed 550 acres of land in Mulund in association with German Architects - Carter & Crown. He introduced the concept of town planning in his project and well defined town planning of Mulund inspired Chandigarh to follow suit.
1997 Marathon Heights, the first highrise building in India to be equipped with a helipad on the top was awarded 'The Best Residential Project of the Year – 1999 by Accommodation Times (A Times of India publication).
1990 Marathon Group constructed Marathon Antariksh, Mulund's first high-rise building.
1999 Marathon Heritage, Vikhroli, was chosen by Canara Bank over 37 other competing projects, to house its employees.
2004Marathon Group constructed Marathon NextGen Era, one of India's tallest residential towers.
AWARDS
Marathon Heights, the first residential tower in India with a helipad, was awarded 'The Best Residential Project of the Year - 1999' by Accommodation Times.
Marathon NextGen Innova won the award for the ‘The Best Commercial Project of the Year 2006-07’ by Accommodation Times.
The Marathon has been nominated for international LEED Gold certification for its Futurex project (One of the tallest commercial tower in India) at Lower Parel because of its Green Initiative
CSR ACTIVITIES
1969 Marathon built Dr. Radhakrishna Nagar Teachers Housing Society in Mulund on a no-profit basis.
1970 The Group volunteered to construct V. P. M. Kannada School in Mulund East.
1971We partnered with Shri. Mahila Gruh Udyog (Lijjat) to offer flats to people with an income of less than Rs. 500/- p.m.
1993Marathon volunteered and rebuilt 100 homes free of cost to rehabilitate villagers affected by earthquakes in Latur, Bhujpur and Kutch.
2004
Beautified the Eastern Express Highway in Mumbai.
Renovated and beautified Mulund Railway Station in Mumbai.
2002
2005MARATHON MUIP Marathon MUIP (Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project) at Kanjurmarg was a SRP (Slum Rehabilitation Project) executed during the development of JVLR (Jogeshwari - Vikroli Link Road) in order to rehabilitate people who lost their homes falling under the proposed project of road development. This project was completed in record time and was awarded the Certificate in the presence of Honourable Smt. Sonia Gandhi, for offering economical homes.
