"Intelligent living" is the trend of recent years. The ad-
vantages offered by a modern installation are very appre-
ciated by the builders and the demand for innovative pro-
ducts has increased dramatically, especially in the field of
private homes. Save energy, feel safe and experience
comfort – who doesn’t want that?
The ever scarcer resources and our responsibility to-
wards the environment and the future generations require
solutions which allow to use the available energy in form
of water, heat and electricity as efficiently as possible.
At the same time, our home is not just a roof above our
heads, but much more a retreat and a creative working
and living environment which corresponds as closely as
possible to our wishes and ideas.
The technology in the house should help us to realize our
wish of comfortable rooms and daily energy saving in the
best possible way. But it’s impossible to achieve this goal
if the technical devices are seen as pure automation de-
vices and the technology and the occupants go different
ways. They have to communicate and know each other.
myGEKKO allows you to communicate with your
house, collect information, control, customize and
optimize your tasks, and much, much more … . In
this manual, our aim is to give everyone the possibility
to use myGEKKO and not to be afraid of "complex tech-
nology". Trying and testing, you will get acquainted with
your home, get direct feedbacks and gain experience.
Within a short period of time, it will even become funny
to control your house technology. The more feedback you
get, the more you get acquainted with the single systems,
achieving an extensive knowledge after a certain time.
myGEKKO is continuously developed - and you can help
us, too! Send us your wishes and suggestions. Would
you like to improve something, criticize or praise us? We
will be happy to hear from you anyway, and we will do our
best to integrate your requests, ideas and suggestions in
the future versions of myGEKKO, in order to offer you an
even more efficient and precious tool.
Visit our website www.my-gekko.com and keep informed
about news, tips and tricks of myGEKKO. I wish you an
enjoyable read of this manual.
Cordially yours,
Weidacher Hartwig
myGEKKO - Ekon GmbH
Dear readers!
9
We have been taking care of homes, their occupants and the necessary technology for 20 years, at first as a simple
planning and service company, nowadays as technology supplier and manufacturer of domotic regulation concepts.
At the beginning, the core activity was the control of heating and conditioning. A heating controller with 2-line display
in the basement, those were the days … In the past, the only technical device inside the house was installed in the
basement: the heating. Bulky, dusty and technically complex. But since then things have changed a lot. New features
have been added, the software has been constantly updated, the display has been redesigned completely and costu-
mized modules have been produced.
Thanks to many years of experience and new technical possibilities, we have been able to create a product which
brings the building to the resident. With myGEKKO we want to provide the residents a tool which allows him to become
familiar with the technology in the house through “setting, controlling and improving”. The right persons to adapt
the individual systems according to their life style, desires and needs are the builder and the occupants themwelves.
What is important for us?
> Raise awareness about energies and environment
> Flexibility, independence and guaranteed future in every area
> State-of-the-art-technology and lifestyle combined with the durability of a building
Where are we going?
myGEKKO is a product grown on the basis of 20 years of experience and work in the field "House and men". A
house lives, the persons inside change, the technology goes on... Thanks to myGEKKO, we will follow this path
with you.
Who are we?
10
A big thank you
The success of myGEKKO is not only the fruit of 20 years of experience, but also of the cooperation with many diffe-
rent partners, suppliers, customers, electricians, architects, planners, etc.
Therefore, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have cooperated with us throughout the
years and all those who have been involved in the “project” myGEKKO in some way.
Our special thanks go to:
> our customers, who have placed their trust in us and help us to continuously develop and improve myGEKKO with
their feedback and suggestions.
> our distribution partners, who complete myGEKKO with their great know how in electrics, hydraulics, IT and safety
11
and give us the possibility to realize global solutions for private homes and business. We would also like to thank
them for the competent support and mentoring of the new project partners.
> the hardworking electricians, who don’t mind to handle with new technologies and innovative concepts. They
leave the familiar paths, invest time and get acquainted with new products in order to offer their final customers
the best solution for their dream house.
> the visionary planners and architects who plan interesting projects with myGEKKO and ensure a smooth imple-
mentation. They represent the connection between the different project partners and support them with their know
how.
> our partners, with whom we could finalize various cooperations. Their collaboration allowed us to transform my-
GEKKO in the flexible system it is today.
> our suppliers for the good cooperation and the trouble-free communication.
> all those who are not mentioned here. Throughout the years, the project myGEKKO involved so many people, that
it is definitely possible that we forgot one or the other. We really hope they will forgive us.

01 Basics
myGEKKO at a glance
Weather book: 1 All the values of the weather station or the weather forecast are recorded and saved in the wea-
ther forecast book. Using the trends, you can monitor and analyse the single values such as temperature, humidity,
wind strength etc.
Information window: myGEKKO informs you about the current outdoor temperature. In addition, it displays the cur-
rent power- and heating consumption.
Moon calendar and sun position: 2 The integrated lunar calendar shows you the current moon sign and the lunar
phase. In the detail view you can find additional information about the position of sun and moon.
01
13
Menu bar: 3 With the menu bar you can access the single systems of the house and enter various settings.
Alarm messages: 4 myGEKKO has integrated various alarm functions. The system sends you an alarm e.g. in case
of failure of the heating or overheating of the rooms. The warning message is output in an alarm box or through an
alarm signal which can be switched off. When you touch the alarm message, its priority status changes, but it will be
displayed until the problem has been solved.
Action window 5
With the menu field Actions you can recall the saved actions with the single push of a button. With “Heating off” you
can turn the heating off in every room and with the actions “Ventilation stage 1-3” it is possible to change the current
ventilation stage. By default, up to 8 actions can be displayed on the screen. Touching the tab, you can expand the
view and display up to 16 actions which can be executed directly on the screen.
In the menu Cameras you can turn the music on and off, adjust the volume and change between the different play-
lists (internet radio, MP3s, …).
With the menu Video you can recall the saved webcams (TCP/IP camera). Touching the camera image you can en-
large it to full screen. Here you have the possibility to display the images of various webcams. Use the REC button to
save the recordings.
14
Menu bar
System menu: Get an overview of your home. You can access every system installed in the house.
You can monitor the current settings and adapt them according to your needs.
System settings: Adapt the myGEKKO display to your preferences. Choose the display contrast, the
user passwords, the turn off time of the display, the cleaning button and the operation language. We
recommend to activate the display turn off time in order to save the display.
Timer: Adapt your house to your daily routine. You can easily save the roomspecific heating times
and define individual times and stages for the ventilation system.
Consumption: Monitor your daily energy consumption. Use the current lists and trends of your pow-
er- and heating consumption in order to control actively the energy management of your house.
Info: Here you find further information about your myGEKKO. The window displays the hardware and
software version and the installed apps. In addition, you can see your myGEKKO ID number and the
license key.
Lock: In order to avoid an unintentional editing of the settings, e.g. by children, the screen lock is
activated by default. In this mode only the menu items Music and Camera are selectable. If you want
to recall scenarios or change some settings, you can activate the next level by selecting the lock and
entering the password. By default, myGEKKO reactivates the screen lock after one minute in standby
mode.
15
User levels
myGEKKO distinguishes between 4 different user levels, which are protected with different passwords.
The locked level can be recognized by the closed lock icon. In this mode you can select only the areas Music, Ca-
mera, weather forecast book and lunar calendar.
The 1st level (user) is password-protected in order to avoid unintentional changes of the settings. To activate this
level you have to select the lock and enter the password. After entering the password, the icons in the menu bar are
displayed and the scenarios are selectable. The detail view 1 of the single systems is activated.
In the 2nd level (administrator) you can carry out the parameterisation 2 of the systems. It is possible to save
the detailed settings of the different systems. The instructions in this manual concern the detail view and the para-
meterisation. In case of description of the settings of the 3th level, you will find a corresponding information.
The 3th level (configurator) contains special technical settings which must be saved by the electrician during the
commissioning of the myGEKKO. This level, also named IO Configuration 3 , is reserved exclusively for the tech-
nicians.
16
Operating modes
myGEKKO distinguishes between the following operation modes: standard (automatic mode), manual mode and swit-
ched off. You can select the operating modes separately for each element 1 .
Usually the active mode is „Standard (automatic mode)“. In this mode you can start the different elements (e.g. the
ventilation) using timers and scenarios. When you change to the "Manual mode", the elemento remains perma-
nently switched on. In this mode, it doesn’t react anymore to the saved timers or scenarios. The operations or re-
quests with push buttons are ignored, too. In the mode „Switched off“ the element remains switched off until the
user reactivates the normal mode or the manual mode.
The switching between the operation modes should be used only for emergency purposes. Therefore you must be
logged in as administrator (2nd user level).
17
Tables
The different values such as weather data, music lists, energy costs etc. are saved in tables.
With the scroll bar 1 you can easily navigate up and down the saved list. If you want to check the table line by
line, you can touch the right area 2 of the table. The view is expanded with a new line.
Touch the left area 3 of the table to select a line.
18
Trends
The different values of energy counters, weather station data, temperatures from individual room controllers etc. are
saved in Trends.
You can find the trend menu in the single systems 1 . The trend graph always refers to a single day. Time and date
are displayed under the diagram 2 . Touching the right or the left area of the trend graph you can navigate back and
forth in the timeline.
The caption indicates which values are displayed 3 .
19
Groups
myGEKKO gives you the possibility to combine single elements as e.g. room heating, lights, shutters etc. into groups.
By default, the elements are assigned to "Group 1 - All". This group allows you for example to turn off all the room
heatings or all the lights with just one action. Therefore, you can select the group instead of the single systems, e.g.
in timers.
Furthermore, you can group the elements as required (e.g. for each floor). Activate the parameterisation level 1
. Tippen Sie auf die Gruppe 2 in the detail view of the system. Tap the groups and select the desired group in the
selection box. Tap “Edit" in the selection menu in order to change the name of the group.
20
Navigation
In the overview of the single systems you can easily see the current status of up to 8 different positions. In addition,
in some systems it is possible to display other positions with the navigation bar.
For this purpose, tap the respective navigation point 1 . The denomination in the navigation bar can be set by the
user. Tap the area next to the push-buttons 2 and save the desired denomination.
Rename elements
The saved names of the single elements, e.g. “Corridor lights”, “Shutter south” etc. can be modified at any time. For
this purpose, login as administrator (2nd user level) and change to the parameterisation level. Tap the title bar and
save the new name.
It is necessary to save a name for every element. Elements without name will not be executed or switched.
21
02 Settings
Tap „Settings“ in the home page to access myGEKKO's setting level.
Setting of the display
Define the required display contrast and the display contrast at standby. If you don’t enter any value, at shutdown the
display will be switched off.
Save the time after that the display should be deactivated under "Display timeout". In addition, you can choose if
after the scheduled timeframe you want to switch the display off, switch off and logout or activate the digital frame.
When you activate the digital frame, you can choose between the sources internet (connected webcam), flash drive
and server.
Under "Touch on display Off" you can define if the first touch has to switch the display on or already execute an action.
When the "Display contrast standby" is set on 0, we suggest to activate the option "Display on".
02
22
Display Cleaning-function: Tap the bar next to the “Display Cleaning-function” and confirm the activation of the
screen lock with “Yes”. Now the display is locked for 30 seconds and you can clean it. Caution: the disable function
locks only the display, not the LED buttons.
Setting of time and place
In the menu “Time/Place” you can set the current time and date with the format: TT.MM.JJ hh:mm:ss. The seasonal
time adjustment is executed automatically by myGEKKO.
For the integrated calculation of the sun position it is necessary to enter latitude, longitude and sea level. These data
are applied automatically when you select a location for the weather forecast.
In addition, select the currency of your energy costs. You can choose between Euro (€) or Swiss Francs (CHF).
23
User administration
Define the passwords for the different user levels under “User”. In the menu “Language” you can change the lan-
guage of the operating menu. By now, myGEKKO is available in German, English, Italian, French, Spanish, Czech and
Dutch.
Password change
We recommend to change the standard passwords of myGEKKO. You can only change the passwords of the current
level and the underlying user levels. Log in as configurator (3rd level) to change all the standard passwords.
Now you can see all 3 user levels in the menu “Users”. Tap the first user and log in with the correct password. If the
entered password s correct, the entry field turns from blue to green and you can enter the new password.
If the entered password is wrong, the field becomes red and it is necessary to log in again.
24
Save data
Tap "Settings" in the home page to access the system settings.
Change to the system maintenance 1 . Connect the USB flash drive (with FAT16 or FAT32 file system) with the
USB plug at myGEKKO and select the desired storage location 2 (Server or MStick). After a few seconds (it can
take up to 1 minute) the buttons „Show“ und „Backup > Settings“ appear. Push „Backup > Settings“ 3 to start
the backup.
Now myGEKKO transfers the entered settings to your USB flash drive or server and saves them in the file "data". So
you can restore the saved settings at any time.
The backup is finished, when the message „Backup done…!“ is displayed. 4 . Push „Show“ and chek if the file
„data“ is displayed. If the file is displayed, the data saving has been carried out correctly. Now you can disconnect the
USB flash drive.
Now the "data" can be stored in the computer.
25
Save recordings
myGEKKO distinguishes between 3 types of data saving:
Lists file:
- Daily and monthly recordings of energy counters, weather stations, access log, SMS Log, etc.
- Local storage possible on device, USB drive or NFS share.
Trends file:
- 15 min recordings of energy counters, weather station data, temperatures from individual room controllers, etc.
- Storage possible on USB drive or NFS share.
Video file:
- Jpg images from LAN camera, automatically or manually saved.
- Storage possible on USB drive or NFS share.
Setting of the storage location
There are 3 possibilities to save the collected data. The data can be stored in the internen myGEKKO SD-Karte (only
lists and trends), on USB drive or on NAS drive with NFS or Samba share.
Normally, lists and trends are stored in the internal SD card. Usually videos are not recorded because they can not
be saved on the SD card.
Do you want to save the data in a network drive or a USB flash drive? You can find further information in the technical
manual "Data storage setup" at www.my-gekko.com.
26
03 Network Settings
Log in as administrator (2nd user level). Access the system settings and change to the network settings .
Setting of the IP address
Assign the device a unique, free IP address and subnet mask under “myGEKKO”. Check if the myGEKKO is connected
to the network. (Pingtest)
CAUTION: Check in the router configuration which address range and which subnet mask is used in your
home network. Typically, it is possible to set the router’s IP address for the gateway and the nameserver
(DNS).
In this example: IP-Address: 192.168.2.148 (Address of myGEKKO Touch) > Netmask: 255.255.255.0
(Subnet mask of the home network) > Gateway: 192.168.2.1 (Address of the router) > Nameserver: 192.168.2.1

0305 Lights
Light control
Tap „Systems“ in the home page and then „Lights“ to open the overview of all the lights of the house. In the
overview you can see how many lamps are currently switched on. Tapping the light bulb you can switch the lights on
and off. In addition, you can read the dimming level of the dimmable lights.
Select the light to open the detailed view.
05
35
In the detailed view you can:
1. Turn the light on and off. 1
2. Adjust the desired light intensity (for dimmable lights). 2
3. Read the last performed actions 3
4. Control if the lamp has been turned on manually, with a push-button or via display. 4
Normally the lights are controlled with the switches installed in the house.
36
Settings
Log in as administrator (2nd user level). Select the desired light in the overview and change to the parameterization
level 1 .
Here you have the possibility to group the lights by tapping the number fields 2 .
For the not-dimmable lights which are turned on and off with a push-button, you can set the delay time of the push-
button, the staircase function and the switching depending on twilight.
With the Follow-up button 3 you can define how long the light has to remain switched on after the activation of
the button. After this period of time the light is turned off automatically. But you also can turn the light off before the
end of the runtime pressing the push-button again. If you don’t set a delay time for the push.-button, the light remains
switched on until someone turns it off manually.
If the Stairs-Mode 4 is activated, when you press the push-button again, the burning time is extended by the saved
runtime. At the end of the runtime, the light is turned off automatically.
37
With the feature Twilight dependance 5 you can choose if you want to turn the lights on at the sunset or not. For
this purpose, define the switch-on value and the tolerance under "Hysteresis". When you select the property “and”,
the lights can be turned on only at the sunset. (e.g. via push-button or timer).
With the menu item Dimm-Behaviour 6 you can define the properties of the dimmable lights.
Dimming function
For the lights with dimming function you can also define the Dimming-Range 1 and the Dim. step 2 . This
function is necessary to adapt the light curve to the sensitivity of the human eye.
In the above-mentioned example the light intensity is increased by 1% in a dimming range between 1% and 30% in
200 milliseconds. In the range between 30 and 45% it increases by 9% in 200 ms. In the dimming range over 45%,
the light intensity increases by 15% in 200 milliseconds.
38
These settings consider that the human eye perceives a modification in the dimming range between 0 and 30% stron-
ger than a modification in the dimming range from 45%. The dimming values and steps are just example values and
may vary depending on the used lamp types.
When the option Retain value 3 is activated, when the lamp is turned on the system uses the last set dimming
value. When “Remember value" is deactivated, the lamp is turned on without dimming.
Define under Dim.Min-Value 4 the minimum value at which you want to reduce the light intensity.
Trends
For every dimmable lamp you can visualize a clear trend graph. Here you can control the cut-in time and the dimming
intensity of the lamps.
39
Motion detectors
For the lamps with connected motion detector it is possible to save a delay time for the movement. At the end of this
delay time and at the end of the delay time of the motion detector, the lamps are switched off automatically.
Set a Follow-up time 1 and under When twilight <= 2 the desired level of outdoor light for the activation of
the lights by the motion detector.
If a weather station is connected, with a brightness between 0 and 255 lux the system uses the value of the twilight
sensor, and from a brightness of more than 255 lux it uses the values of the brightness sensor south. If no weather
station is connected, the system uses the calculated value.
40
Dimming function with motion detector
For the lamps with dimming function and connected motion detector in addition it is possible to save a Dimm-Beha-
viour 1 . You can save relative and absolute dimming values 2 or adjust the lights automatically according
to the brightness.
This function is often used for the outdoor lighting. For example you can turn on the outdoor lighting by default with
e.g. 30% of the light intensity, and increase it to 80% in case of movement detection.
41
Light sensor
The dimmable lamps with connected light sensor can be controlled using the constant lighting regulation. The light
sensor detects the current room brightness and increases or reduces the dimming step of the lamp in order to main-
tain the predefined illuminance.
In the detailed overview, save under Setpoint 1 the desired light intensity 2 . You can read directly which
dimming step and which brightness value are set for your lamp.
Change to the parameterization level 3 for the advanced settings. Select the menu „Brightness controller“ 4 .
Define the percent change/100 lux for the brightness control and the required time 5 .
If the Automatic turn Off 6 is activated, the light is turned off. When it becomes dark the light must be turned
on again manually. If the auto power off is deactivated, in case of overstepping of the brightness value the lights are
dimmed down to 0%, but remain switched on. When the brightness decreases, the lights dim up again.

Off.
You can also check the actual temperature and the setpoint temperature of the room 2 . You can correct rapid
temperature changes (+/- 5 degrees) with the correction controller 3 directly on the display.
56
Operating modes
We distinguish between the following operating modes:
Comfort mode
Reduced mode
Off
For everyday use set the operation mode „Comfort mode“ or „Reduced mode“. By default the heating and the
operation modes are controlled with timers or actions. You can find further information on this topic in chapter "Ti-
mers" or "Actions".
With the mode Off the heating is turned off. The heating is lowered to the preset minimum temperature (normally
5°C). In this mode, the possible timers are ignored.
The above mentioned operation modes refer to the “Simply Mode”. As alternative you can also activate
the “Expert Mode”. You can set this option as configurator under System settings > Settings > Rights/
Levels. In this way, you have additional operation modes at your disposal.
57

values.
Define the desired heating temperatures for the different operation modes 1 . This way, you can adapt every
room to the individual temperature requirements. When you recall an operation mode with a timer or an action, the
system will use this predefined heating values.
Save under „Min“ the desired minimum temperature 2 of the heating when it is turned off. This allows you to
prevent that the heating falls below 0 degrees Celsius and to ensure frost protection.
Define at which outdoor temperature the heating has to switch off. Save the corresponding value under „Eco tem-
perature“ 3 .
59
Control parameters
Tap the field “Control parameters” in the parameterization level to open the detailed settings.
For the value "Gain" the valve position is set proportionally to the temperature difference between SETPOINT and
ACTUAL temperature. The problem is that there are always some small differences. Therefore the system also con-
siders the value of the Integration time (integral value). With the integral value, the valve position can be adjusted
dynamically.
Example: Gain controller: With a difference of 1°C between setpoint temperature and actual temperature, the
valve opens with 1 x P%. Integration time controller: With a difference of 1°C between setpoint temperature and
actual temperature, the valve opens with 1% within a time of x sec.
Recommended values:
- hot water heating / radiators: 20 / 90 sec
- underfloor heating: 20 / 144 sec
- fan coil: 25 / 54 sec
- electric heating: 25 / 60 sec
60
Alarm parameters
Tap the field “Alarm parameters” in the parameterization level to open the detailed settings.
Define at which minimum and/or maximum temperature myGEKKO shall alert you 1 .

of the boiler heating 3 and how much it still has to be heated up 2 .
In addition, you have the possibility to check if the boiler needs to be preheated 4 and if the pump has already been
switched on 5 .
When your heating system disposes of a high temperature or low temperature function, you can see in the detailed
overview if the function is actually active or not 6 .
64
Settings burner
Log in as administrator (2nd user level). Select the burner in the overview of the heating system. Change to the para-
meterization level 1 .
Set at which minimum temperature the heating shall turn on 2 and supply heat to the connected systems. Define
under “Hysteresis” at how much degrees under the enabling value the enabling shall be deactivated.
Define the temperature values for your request taking into account if the burner is connected to a low temperature
and/or high temperature or to an analogue 0-10V output 3 . Set the delay time for the pump under Follow-up pump
4 . At the end of the request the pump will keep on running for this period of time.
Define in the mask „Alarm parameters“ 5 at which minimum and/or maximum temperature of the burner, the
supply flow and the return flow myGEKKO shall alert you. Set under „Hysterese“ the degrees by which the maximum
or the minimum temperature has to decrease or to increase in order to deactivate the alarm.

Boiler
In the detailed view of the boiler you can see the Setpoint 1 and the temperature of the top or bottom boiler
sensor 2 .
Check the operation mode 3 (Auto or Manual) of the boiler. When the check box „Enable“ is activated, it means
that the boiler has been switched on with a scenario or a timer. In addition, you can see if the pump is running.
When a solar system is connected to your heating system, you can monitor the temperature of the collector 4 in
the detailed overview and check if the pump of the solar system 5 is running.
When you have a boiler loading system, in addition you also have the possibility to read the temperature of the
secondary sensor and check the operating status. You can also see if the secondary pump is activated.
67
Settings boiler
Log in as administrator (2nd user level). Select the boiler in the overview of the heating system to open the detailed
view. Change to the parameterization level 1 .
Define which sensor shall be used as loadsensor 2 . Set the setpoint temperature of the boiler and the setpoint
temperature for the activation of the frost protection 3 . When you don’t set any other temperatures through ac-
tions or timers, these preset temperatures are used as reference values. Under “Hysteresis” set the value by which
the temperature shall be decreased or increased to reload the boiler.
Some bacteria, the so called legionella, multiply very quickly in warm water, therefore in some systems it is neces-
sary to eliminate them from time to time (ask a specialist). At this purpose you can create a scenario by selecting
the boiler with the operation mode “Legionella”. Set the value “Setpoint value – Legionella” at 70 degrees. This way,
when the scenario is recalled the boiler heats up at 70 degrees 4 killing the bacteria.
The value „Raising flow-temperature“ 5 is added to the present request. This way the boiler receives a higher
request than needed. The purpose of the flow super-elevation is to allow the boiler to reach the setpoint temperature
more quickly.
68
Define in the mask Alarm parameters 6 at which minimum and/or maximum temperature of the boiler and the
collector myGEKKO shall alert you. Under “Alarm hysteresis” you have to set the degrees by which the maximum or
the minimum temperature has to decrease or to increase in order to deactivate the alarm.
Boiler loading system:
When you have a boiler loading system, in addition you have to define the minimum temperature for the secondary
circuit under “Min-sec”. The hot water in the heat exchanger has to reach this preset temperature before the request
can be mixed in the boiler.
In addition, set under „Max. start delay“ the maximum delay for the enabling of the request. At the end of the delay
time the request is enabled, even if the necessary temperature of the secondary circuit has not been reached.
Solar system:
When a solar system is connected to your heating system, you have to set the temperature of the solar difference.
This is the difference between the temperature of the lower sensor of the boiler and the temperature of the sensor of
the collector. When the collector temperature is higher than the boiler temperature by the preset solar difference, the
solar pump turns on and the solar system delivers energy to the boiler.
69
Trend graph boiler
In the trend graph of your boiler you can see the top- and bottom-temperature, the request as well as the temperature
of the solar system.
70
Circulation
In the detailed view of the circulation you can see if the pump is actually enabled. About the button Pump you can see
if the pump is currently enabled or disables. Additionally, you can see the current term of the pulse and pause time.
In order to save energy, the circulation pump is activated by default for a certain period of time and then deactivated
for another period of time. Therefore, the pump is not running continuously, but nonetheless the circulation is ensured.
71
Settings circulation
Log in as administrator (2nd user level). Select the circulation in the overview of the heating system to open the de-
tailed view. Change to the parameterization level 1 .
Set the runtime of the circulation pump under Pulsetime and the stopping interval under Pausetime.
The circulation pump can be turned on and off using a timer or scenarios.

0312 Heating and conditioning circuits
Heating and conditioning circuits control
Tap „Systems“ in the home page and then "Circuits" to open the overview. In the overview you can see the set-
point temperature and the actual temperature as well as the valve opening of each heating circuit.
12
73
In the detailed overview you see the operation mode of the heating 1 . You can read the setpoint temperature of
the room 2 ; the displayed temperature is the highest setpoint temperature of the rooms assigned to the heating
circuit. You can also read the setpoint temperature and the actual flowtemperature and the actual temperature of
the return 3 .
When the Safety thermostat 4 is displayed in green, this means that the connected thermostat is working and the
safety limit is not exceeded.
When the Room controller 5 is active, this means that actually at least one of the assigned rooms is heated up.
When the box "Cooling" 6 is green, the heating circuit is used for the conditioning of the rooms.
In the box „Burner-Ok“ 7 you can see the status of the boiler. When the field is grey, it means that the boiler ac-
tually still needs to be preheated and is not able to deliver the heat to the mixed circuit. When the box “Boiler-Ok” is
acvtive, it means that the boiler has reached the minimum temperature and the heating is enabled. The requested
heat is delivered to the mixed circuit.
When the field Eco-Switch Off 8 is active, the mixed circuit has been switched off because the external tempera-
ture has reached the preset limit.
74
In the box „Pump“ 9 you can see the status of the pump. When the box is green, the pump is running.
The fields „Controller“ and „Valve“ 10 indicate the actual position of the mixer and the request of the controller.
Settings heating and conditioning circuits
Log in as administrator (2nd user level). Select the desired circuit in the overview of all the circuits to open the detailed
view. Change to the parameterization level 1 .
Define the Heating- 2 and Cooling parameters 3 as well as the settings of Controller 6 and Alarm para-
meters 7 .
Define under Request 4 if the heating circuit sends his heating request to the boiler or to the buffer.
The room assignment 5 gives you the possibility to assign the single rooms to the corresponding heating circuit.
75
Multi-Display: When you use several myGEKKOs for the control of your house, you can assign also the rooms of other
myGEKKOs to the respective heating circuit. At this purpose, select the myGEKKO and then assign the desired rooms
to the corresponding heating circuit 5 .
Heating- and cooling parameter
Using the Characteristig 1 you can adapt the flow temperature to the required heat output. In order to achieve
the optimal setting, the flow temperature is adjusted considering the external temperature and the desired room
temperature.
With this link the system considers that in the winter season you need a higher heating output than during the sum-
mer period. In addition, the system considers the individual heating preferences, too. This allows a very accurate
calculation of the requirements. Set the values for the adjustment of the heating characteristic.
Set the minimum and maximum room temperature under the menu item „Room temp. Min“ and „Room temp. Max"
2 . When the actual room temperature is lower or higher than these preset values, the values are included in the
calculation.
76
Define in the field „Eco temp.“ 3 at which outdoor temperature the heating circuit has to be turned off. The setting
of the conditioning parameters follows the same criteria.
Adaptation of the characteristic
Set the following values for the adjustment of the heating characteristic:
Gradient: Define under "Gradient" in which proportion the flow temperature has to be modified when the outdoor
temperature changes by 1 degree.
Base outsid and Base flow temperature: The fields „Base outside temp.“ and „Base flow temp.“ contain two
initial values which are used for the flow calculations. In our example, the output temperature is 0.00° and the flow
temperature 38.00° C.

Example: The actual outdoor temperature is 0° and the flow temperature 38°. The outdoor temperature decre-
ases by 5°. With an increase by factor 1, the flow temperature increases by 5°, reaching 43° C.
Factor room/flow: This factor determines the modify of the setpoint flow temperature when the room temperature
changes. As initial value we consider a room temperature of 20° C. When the temperature deviates from this value,
the difference is multiplied by the flow room factor and added to or subtracted of the flow temperature.

Example: The actual outdoor temperature is 0°, the room temperature is 20° and the flow temperature 38°. The
setpoint room temperature is increased to 23°. The saved flow room factor is a factor 2. Therefore, the flow
temperature increases by 3 x factor 2 to 44°C. The characteristic is displaced by 6 degrees.
78
Flow temperature max and min: In order to avoid an arbitrary heating or cooling of the flow, it is possible to set
the maximum and minimum temperature of the flow under „Flow temp. Max“ and „Flow temp. Min“.
In addition, define the Distributor raising flow temperature. The flow setpoint temperature, added to the reising flow
temperature corresponds to the effective request send to the boiler by the heating circuit (or to the boiler).
Frost temperature: Define at which outdoor temperature ad at which flow temperature the frost protection shall be
activated. Set the desired setpoint flow temperature with active frost protection and define the pauses and the pulse
times of the heating circuit.
79
Room assignment
With the menu item “Room assignment” you can assign the single rooms to the corresponding heating circuit. Touch
the desired rooms to select them. Next to each room you can see the saved setpoint temperature. The actual valve
opening is displayed by the green bar. The longer the bar, the more the valve is open.
Thanks to the fact that the rooms are assigned directly to the heating circuit, the circuit detects automatically if no
more heat is required, which means that all the valves are closed, and automatically stops the pump.
This way, the house owner has no longer to worry about his heating circuits. To turn the heating off it is sufficient to
deactivate the single room controller. The heating circuits turn off automatically.
80
Alarm parameters
Touch the menu item"Alarm parameters" to access the detailed overview. Define at which minimum and/or maxi-
mum temperature 1 myGEKKO shall alert you. Set under „Alarm hysteresis" 2 the value by which the maxi-
mum temperature shall be decreased or the minimum temperature shall be increased to deactivate the alarm.
81
Controller
Tap the menu item "Controller" to open the detailed view.
Under „Valve run duration“ 1 set the time needed by the mixer to open completely. You can read this value directly
on the mixer. Define under „Valve Min impulse“ the minimum pulse time the mixer requires to react 2 .
Define under „Controller P“ and „Controller-I(p).“ dthe positive and the negative amplification, and under „Cont-
roller I“ the required integration time 3 .
Under Room controller, set the minimum valve opening and the start delay for the activation of the request 4 .
Under Flow, save the values for the pump control according to the temperature difference (difference between flow
and return) 5 .
82
0313 Alarm system
Activating and deactivating the alarm system
The are two different ways to switch the alarm system on and off. We distinguish between the areas “Motion detector”
and “Window/door contact”. When you activate the area “Motion detector”, the system monitors the indoor spaces of
your house. When you activate the area "Window/door contact", the system monitors the "outer skin" of the house
while you are at home.
Tap „Systems“ in the home page and then „Alarm system“to open the overview of the alarm systems. Tapping
the sirens on the home page will take you also to the detailed view 1 .
In the detailed overview you see the actual status of the areas. You can activate and deactivate the different sys-
tems with the corresponding pushbuttons 1 .
13
83
In addition, myGEKKO monitors the status of the connected detectors and contacts 2 . Also in this case we
distinguish between motion detector and window/door contacts. When all the contacts are “clean”, which means that
no movement has been detected and all the windows are closed, myGEKKO displays a green field which indicates
that the alarm detectors are OK.
In case of irregularity, e.g. when a window is open, myGEKKO alerts you with an orange message. This prevents that
the alarm system is activated when there still are windows open or people in the house.
Settings
Log in as administrator (2nd user level). Change to the parameterization level 1 of your alarm system.
Enter a denomination for the two different switch options of the alarm system in the fields „Area 1 und 2“ 2 . By
default, the area 1 is named “Motion detector” and the area 2 “Window/door contact”.
84
For both areas you can define an „Activation delay“ 3 . This is particularly advisable for the area "Motion detec-
tor". This gives you enough time to leave the house after the activation of the alarm system.
In addition, you have the possibility to set a password for deactivation 4 of the alarm system. At this purpose,
the alarm system must be deactivated via display. By default no password is set. If you want to save a password, the
first time you have to login without entering a password.
Touch the menu item „Name + Delay“ 5 to access the list of all connected motion detectors and window contacts.
Here you can assign a delay time to each contact. Touch the green field next to the denomination and enter the desi-
red delay. The delay is especially useful when the alarm system is password-protected and must be deactivated via
display. You can enter in the house and take your time to deactivate the alarm system.
In the menu filed "Zone assignment" 6 you can assign the single motion detectors and window contacts to the
areas 1 and 2 by tapping the number fields.
85
0314 Logics
Logics control
Using the logics, it is possible to perform various controls. The different devices and sensors can be interconnected
and this allows for example to connect the ventilation with a humidity sensor and define exactly at which percent of
air humidity the ventilation has to be turned on.
Tap „Systems“ in the home page and then „Alarms“ to open the overview of all the alarms of the house. In
the overview you can find a list of all the logics and alarm messages. If you see a dice next to the denomination, the
element is a logic. When the light of the dice is green, the logic is active.
Select the logic to open the detailed view..
14
86
Here you can read which values 1 stay in relation 2 to one another or how the different values are interconnec-
ted and compared.
The alarm is activated when the defined conditions are met. In the detailed overview this is signalized by the green
label 3 .
Settings
Log in as administrator (2nd user level). Select the desired logic in the overview and change to the parameterization
level 1 .
Select the values you want to put in relation to one another. You can choose between analogue and digital inputs and
outputs (sensors, ecc.) or a "logic value". The real input or output 2 is defined by the electrician in the IO confi-
guration (3rd user level). On the contrary, the "Logic-Value" 3 can be assigned by the user in the parameterization
level. Therefore, touch an empty window and select the required value in the overview.
87
Definition of the values:
Gatte: is a result within the logic e.g. Gate A 4
Logic: is the end result (Gatte G) of a different logic. 5
Setpoint / Impuls value: can be assigned manually, through actions or via a clocks.
Energy value: current power of the energy meter.
Weather: all values of the weather station and the weather forecast can be used for creating the logic.
Profile: 0 for outside home; 1 for inside home.
Fixvalue: is assigned manually.
Calendar value: are assigned manually.
88
Now select the operands. Tap therefor directly on the gate 6 .
89
Definition of the operators:
Min: the smaller value is passed
Max: the bigger value is passed
R_Trig: Raising Trigger - Rising edge evaluation: the impulse is forwarded when there is an incoming signal.
F_Trig: Falling Trigger - Falling edge evaluation: the impulse is forwarded when there is an outgoing signal.
ADD: Addition - The values are added
SUB: Subtraction - The values are subtracted
SR: Setter u. Resetter - Setter: the output is set; Resetter: the output or the counter is resetted
CTD: Counter up - Pre-counter: the counter is increased at every incoming signal
CTUD: Counter up-down - Up- and down-counter: the counter is increased or decreased at every incoming
signal.
OR: either or - if a condition occurs
AND: and - when both conditions occur
MUL: values are multiplied
DIV: values are divided
TON: Time On - Start delay
TOF: Time Off - Switch-off delay
TONF: Time on/off - Start and switch-off delay
IMP: Impulse with pause
MATH: Mathematical function – dew point calculation
PI-REG: PI-control with setting option
MEDIA: Average value of a time span
ALARM: Multiple alarms realizable with a logic
90
Afterwards you have to define the appropriate comparative value 7 .
In the last step, you have to mark the logic as such. Be sure that the alarm symbol is deactivated 8 .

0315 Alarm messages
Alarm messages control
Tap „Systems“ in the home page and then „Alarms“ to open the overview of all the alarms of the house.
In the overview you can find a list of all the alarm messages. If you see a warning triangle next to the denomination,
the element is an alarm message. When the light of the warning triangle is red, it means that the system has detected
an irregularity ad the alarm message has been activated.
Select the alarm message to open the detailed view.
Here you can read which values 1 stay in relation 2 to one another or how the different values are interconnec-
ted and compared..
15
92
The alarm is activated when the defined conditions are met. In the detailed overview this is signalized by the green
label 3 .
Settings
Alarm messages are saved in the same way as logics. At this regard, see the chapter “Logics – Settings”.
The only difference is the last step. In this case you have to mark your alarm message as such. For this purpose,
activate the alarm symbol 4 .
93
0316 Alarm log
The alarm symbol 1 on the home page signalizes if currently there is an active alarm or not. We distinguish between:
red alarm icon: active alarm, alarm has not been confirmed yet.
orange alarm icon: active alarm, alarm was confirmed.
gray alarm icon: no alarm active.
Tap on the alarm symbol 1 and you get in the alarm log. Here you can see the actual alarms and the alarm history.
Touch the alarm messages to confirm the receipt. The priority of the alarm is decreased and the alarm colour turns
to orange. When the failure is removed, the alarm automatically becomes green and the date and time of the removal
are saved by the system. This allows you an easy back tracing and analyse of the failures.

according to the list or to the available energy. When you force the switching on according to the list, the last device
that has been turned off is switched on as first. If you don’t select the switching on, the device is turned on with the
lowest power consumption.
In the field "Device" 5 it is possible to save the devices which must be turned off when the performance exceeds
the maximum power. Define the desired deactivation sequence. Save the devices with the lowest priority first, be-
cause myGEKKO turns the devices on from the top to the bottom.

lines shall be “all together” or “different”. If you select “different”, the days of the week can be set individually for
each command line.
For the Random deviate on "Outside" mode the timer has to be assigned to the profile "Outside". The execution
of the single command lines is shifted by a random value (within the saved time frame). Use this function e.g. for the
presence simulation when you are on holiday.
128
Delete clocks
Tap „Clocks“ in the home page to open the overview of all the saved clocks. Select the corresponding timer to open
the detail view.

129
Profile
With the timers you can manage 2 different profiles: „Inside“ and „Outside“. You have the possibility to define which
timers shall be started only when you are "Outside" (e.g. presence simulation), which ones shall be started only when
you are "Inside" (e.g. heating) and which ones have to be activated when you are "Outside" and "Insides" (e.g. irri-
gation). The profiles influence exclusively timers and actions.
You can see which profile is currently activated in the home page with the timer icon. When only the timer is displayed,
the active profile is „Inside“. When the timer is displayed with a little walking man, the active profile is „Outside“.
130
A profile change can be carried out only with actions or timers. At this purpose, select "Profile" under Systems and
set the desired status for the property. If for example you set the profile on "Outside"with an action, the system will
execute only the timers that have been selected for "Outside".
It can happen that you start a system with a timer (e.g. the circulation pump) and then decide to change the profile, for
example because you go on holiday. The 2nd command that should switch the system off is not executed because the
profile is not the same anymore. To avoid this we have added the function "Activation in case of profile change" 1 . This option gives you the possibility to activate the timer for a command line. The command line is executed
immediately only in case of profile change (e.g. from "Inside" to "Outside").
131

The single commands of an action are executed immediately and in succession. But you can set a delay 1 from 1
second to endless. The corresponding command and all the following command lines are delayed for the set period
if time. The action remains active until all the command lines have been processed.
The active actions can be interrupted with a stop button or via display, by touching the active action again. The exe-
cution is interrupted immediately and no other action is processed.
Exception: With the function "OnStop" 2 and the delay time endless (-II-) 1 you can choose which command
lines shall be executed at the interruption of the action. In this way, you can combine 2 actions (e.g. Hold open door->
Lock door) in one action, make better use of the 32 possible actions and recall 2 different controls with one single
button.
Example: At the 1st activation of the button the 1st command line is executed. The entrance is kept open. The
execution of the 2nd command line is delayed endlessly, the action remains active. At the 2nd activation of the
action (via push-button or display), the action is interrupted and the system processes only the command line
"Lock door” marked with "OnStop" and "Endless delay".
136
