The Leadership Academy engages participants in a coordinated and multifaceted curriculum over twelve months that includes:• In-personcollaborativelearningexperiences;• Sitevisitsshowcasingvisionaryleadershipandinnovationbothwithinandoutsidetheagingservicesfield;• Mentorshipsupportthroughpersonalcoachingteams;• Leaders in Residence events–intimateconversationswhereexperiencedleaderssharetheirprofessionalandpersonal leadershipstories;• Individualactionlearningprojectsdesignedtoaddressorganizationalchallengesoropportunities;• Self-explorationthroughassignedreadings,exercisesandassessments;and• Onlinegroupdiscussionforums.
Participantsshouldplanonspending10-15hoursamonthengagedinLeadershipAcademyactivities.

The 2013-2014 Leadership AcademyThereisasayingabouttransformationalchangethatisattributedtoGandhi:“Be the change you want to see in the world.” Thespiritofthisoft-quotedphraseisthatweallleadbyexampleinourorganizations.Tothatend,AgingServicesofMinnesotaisexcitedtoonceagainoffertheLeadershipAcademy–auniqueleadershipdevelopmentprogramdesignedspecificallytocultivatehighpotential,transformationalleadersinthefieldofagingservices.
This12-monthprogram,ledbynationallyrecognizedfacilitatorMicheleHolleranPh.D.,isarichandengaginglearningexperienceinwhichparticipantsembarkonarigorousjourneyofselfreflection,leadershiptheory,criticalskilldevelopmentandactionlearning.

Eligibility:• TheprogramisavailabletoanyonewhoworksforanAgingServicesofMinnesotaprovider
member(carecenter,housing,homeandcommunity-basedservices),irrespectiveofclinical ormanagerialexperience.ItismoreimportantforpotentialFellowstodemonstratedeep leadershippotentialwithintheirorganizationsthanitisforthemtocarryspecificjobtitles.• Fellowswillneedaccesstoapersonalcomputerforregulare-mailcontactsandtoparticipate
intheAgingServicesLeadershipAcademyE-Community.
Tuition:• A$1,500tuitionpayment(non-refundableandnon-transferable)isrequiredfromeachFellow’s
organization.Inaddition,lodging,travelexpensesandsomemealsmayalsobepaidbyeachFellowortheFellow’sorganization(thecostsincurredvarydependingonthelocationsofthesitevisits).
• Thetuitionfeeincludesthecostofallbooks,materials,evaluations,assessments,continuingeducationunits(CEUs)andmealsduringLeadershipAcademysessions.
