The Name on the Finest Homes
What is the indefinable quality about a Charles Church home that makes it so special, and makes so many aspire to owning one?
When Charles and Susanna Church laid the foundations of their first home in 1965, they were doing more than building a desirable residence. They were turning their vision of the perfect home into a benchmark for quality and a legacy for future generations to appreciate.
Over four decades later, their principles remain the cornerstone of every home we build and it is the firm emphasis of the Group to combine quality with aesthetically pleasing designs and traditional building techniques.
This philosophy has led us to enjoy an unrivalled reputation for over forty years. We pride ourselves not only on providing excellent examples of traditional construction and craftsmanship but also on the elegance and character of our homes which are designed to harmonise with their natural surroundings.
Whenever possible, many period or regional features are used, such as our famous brick and flint combination or our traditional Tudor style homes incorporating intricate herringbone brickwork. We utilise fully the interior space of our homes combining every modern and efficient convenience within classic, timeless and elegant exteriors.
We recognise the importance of providing our customers with the opportunity to add character to their home through a wide choice of colour schemes, making certain that quality, service and value are inherent in all we undertake.
Our exacting standards and attention to detail at every stage of the construction process play an integral part in achieving a totally unmistakable quality and sense of style. This unique combination of principles ensures that our homes and developments continue to win an ever increasing number of prestigious consumer, industry and media awards.
The ultimate winner however, is the buyer of a Charles Church home.
CranbrookImagine. Discover. Believe
Cranbrook has been designed to combine the culture of the historic market town of Exeter with the needs of 21st century living - It is Devon's first new town to be built since the Middle Ages. Its aim is to build a self-sufficient and low-carbon community to help enhance the lives of its residents.
As well as 21st century housing, Cranbrook will also provide a range of facilities to match. A new £3.6 million primary school equipped with the latest technology has been built, which will eventually accommodate 420 children. Also serving the town is a multi-purpose community building, the Younghayes Centre, which is home to a doctor’s surgery, library, town council offices and a community hall.
In the future, Cranbrook also has plans for another primary school, a secondary school, its very own high street, a new railway station on the Exeter to Waterloo line, a network of cycle paths and a bus route with frequent stops located around the town.
Not forgetting the need for green space, Cranbrook will also provide a rural country park with ample space for play areas, a skateboard park and other recreational facilities.
The most impressive part of Cranbrook's plan is its own district heating system, which supplies both heat and hot water piped to every new home. This will be run using biomass fuel, which will result in residents benefiting from reduced energy bills, no water tank, no boiler and unlimited hot water and heating 24 hours a day. When this is achieved, Cranbrook will become the first mass open market development in the country to provide a district heating scheme on this scale.
Located just a few miles from the M5 and just 7 miles from the vibrant centre of Exeter, Cranbrook offers excellent transportation links. The new town is also within a short drive from Exeter International Airport offering flights to a number of popular international destinations.
A brand new self-sufficient, low-carbon community with infinite possibilities.
Kings GroveCranbrook, Exeter
Kings Grove is a select development situated on the outskirts of the Cathedral City of Exeter. Close to local amenities, surrounded by stunning countryside and just a few miles from the Jurassic coastline, this is a truly delightful setting.
The development offers a choice of 1 bedroom apartments, 2 bedroom terraced houses, 2 & 3 bedroom semi detached houses and 4 and 5 bedroom detached houses. Each of these delightful plots is complemented by a garage or allocated parking space.
The homes have been carefully designed to complement the local environment, offering a combination of stone, brick and render and roofed in either grey slates or terracotta tiles. Built to the highest specification, all homes include white PVCu double-glazing and a selection of kitchen finishes with co-ordinating wall units and upstands.

Exeter
The elegant architecture of Exeter reveals a city brimming with history. Fortified by the Romans, the city has served as a busy port throughout the centuries, the remains of which can be seen at the picturesque quayside.
Today the city centre has undergone architect designed regeneration, providing state-of-the-art shopping for the 21st century. The historic cathedral provides a beautiful contrast with its attractive grounds and cobbled streets with independent shops and cafés.
Exeter is home to superb quality sports facilities, schools and an acclaimed University campus. The city makes an ideal base for exploring the rugged delights of Dartmoor National Park and the spectacular coastlines of Devon, or if you're after something less strenuous there is a range of tow-paths and countryside walks to be enjoyed.
Road and rail links to the city are excellent with the train stations and M5 motorway supplying links to London. Exeter International Airport also provides international and internal flights.
