BRAZILSouth America’s economic success in recent years is due in no small measure to Brazil, which has been driving growth well beyond its bor-ders. Already ranked as the world’s fifth-largest economy, Brazil is well on the road to becoming an economic superpower, especially in key sectors, such as the mechanical engineering, automotive and trans-port infrastructure sectors.
Brazil’s economic strength today is not built solely on its massive size and population; it is also the result of decades of stable, solid growth. Major projects, such as the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games, and the associated govern-ment-funded expansion of Brazil’s infrastructure have sparked a flurry of economic activity throughout the country. Brazil is also becoming an in-creasingly important destination for foreign direct investment. To date, 26 of the world’s top 75 engineering companies have set up Brazilian sub-sidiaries. 80 of the world’s 100 largest
CHINAChina’s current Five Year Plan calls for extensive capital investment in sustainable and ecologically com-patible modernization measures for industry.
The Chinese government’s new economic development approach is squarely focused on sustainable mod-ernization measures for the country’s vast industrial base. This, in turn, has boosted demand for foreign expertise and technologies and made it much easier for companies from outside China to gain a foothold in this excit-ing market. The fact that the Chinese government’s new “green” approach fits in well with the “Europe 2020” strategy of the European Commission paves the way for greater commercial and political cooperation between the two economic superpowers. From a European perspective, China repre-sents an enormous opportunity, not least because of its comparatively high real growth rates of between eight and ten percent over the last decade. The industrial subcontracting and component manufacturing sector alone accounted for around 15 percent of this growth. International compa-nies who want to be part of this suc-cess story will find the ideal gateway to the Chinese market in Shanghai: the Industrial Supply ASIA fair. Staged jointly with the PTC ASIA, CeMAT ASIA and ComVac ASIA fairs, Industrial Supply ASIA is the perfect marketing platform for companies wanting to gain a foothold in one of Asia’s most important industrial regions.

vehicle component suppliers have invested in local manufacturing operations. The new Industrial Supply SOUTH AMERICA show in Curitiba is one of the most im-portant trade fairs for industrial subcontracting, materials and manufacturing technology in the Mercosur Region, South America’s common market. It is also a unique opportunity for companies from around the world to gain a foot-hold in this promising part of the world and to share in its long-term growth.

GERMANYThe latest business confidence data for the German subcontracting industry show that German SMEs will continue to drive the country’s positive economic development in the future.
The data stems from a routine survey conducted for the German “Subcontracting Industry Business Confidence Index” in early 2014. The survey of around 600 German companies from the foundry, plastics processing, steel and metal process-ing, NF metal, rubber and technical textiles industries not only paints a positive picture of the subcontracting sector’s current economic situation, but also bodes extremely well for the future. The positive outlook is echoed by the European Purchasing Manag-ers’ Index, which also points to very
INDIAIndia’s economy is bracing itself for a new growth surge. Since the coun-try’s local component manufacturers are not expanding at the same rate as its booming automotive, rail, plant and machinery sectors, this new growth will open up significant opportunities for foreign suppliers.
While India’s economy is booming, the country continues to lag behind in the field of research and development. For this reason, Indian manu facturers are increasingly entering into R&D partnerships with foreign companies. It's only by cooperating with interna-tional partners that Indian manufac-turers can hope to close the technol-ogy gap with their highly innovative competitors from Germany, Japan, Italy and the USA. This is particularly true of the automotive sector. The big international vehicle manufac-turers have come to value India as a prime production location. Part of the
attraction, of course, is the fact that India is well on the way to becoming one of the world’s biggest auto-mobile markets. Industrial Supply INDIA is the number one trade fair platform for industrial subcontrac-tors seeking to gain a foothold in the Indian market. Industrial Supply INDIA celebrated its premiere in 2013 as part of the WIN INDIA fair in New Delhi and in December 2014 the exhibition will debute at its new location in Mumbai, where it will be
co-staged with the India Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS). IESS is India’s most important international indus-trial technology sourcing fair. With its population base of nearly 20 million people, Mumbai is one of the world’s biggest cities. Mumbai accounts for over ten percent of India’s industri-al jobs and over 40 percent of the country’s export trade. It is also only 124 miles distant from Pune, one of India’s three major automotive manu-facturing centers.
bullish economic development going forward. This development is largely due to the entrepreneur-ial spirit and innovative power of Germany’s subcontracting industry, which offers best-in-class solutions for just about every user industry, not least the automotive manufac-turing industry, which is particular-ly strong in the Federal Republic. It’s hardly surprising, then, that the world’s most important industri-al subcontracting show is held in Germany. The Industrial Supply fair in Hannover brings together more decision makers from industry, science and politics than any other comparable fair, which makes it a knowledge sharing and business development platform without equal internationally. HANNOVER MESSE is the world’s biggest indus-
trial technology fair, and Industrial Supply is one of its most important constituent shows. It attracts around 60,000 trade visitors of its own and benefits from direct exposure to the tens of thousands of exhibitors and visitors at HANNOVER MESSE’s other constituent shows.
