IMG’s History with Iris
• 10 years of fundraising
• Funds have increased every year, with $25,000 sent in 2012
• Ian Martin has been the sole provider of Christmas joy for both children on base and in surrounding villages

Quick Iris Overview • It opened in 2003
• Iris is... 7 children’s homes, a primary school, a farming centre, a bible school, a regional feed program & provides disaster relief for the area

Why is Iris there?
• Iris is in the town of Bangula in the Nsanje District
• Southern Malawi experiences regular crop failure due to extreme weather and food insecurity is a constant issue among the people of the Nsanje District.
• Most people are subsistent farmers and live off less than a dollar a day and malaria is prevalent year round.
• There are over 40,000 orphaned or vulnerable children in the district of 250,000 people
