EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Inventys Research Co. Pvt. Ltd. (Inventys) has been promoted by The Multi Group (TMG). TMG
consists of three companies. The first one focuses on producing intermediates (chemicals) for
dyes, pigments, pharmaceuticals, rubber, and various other industry segments. This company
has never made a loss in last 30 years of its existence. Second company produces specialty
chemicals for similar industry segments. Both of these companies are the only companies outside
China, to be able to compete in the global markets in their respective product segments. The
Multi group serves more than 500 companies worldwide. More than 25% of our production is
exported to western European, North America countries and to Japan, Korea, and China. Third
company, Inventys (started in 2005) with a focus on:
Outsourced manufacturing using dedicated plants for large companies from high-cost Countries
Contract research, process scale-up, and process optimization services.
For producing Specialty Intermediates & Fine Chemicals.
Inventys has already demonstrated ability to build manufacturing plant (with DCS automation)
for specialty chemicals, on a fast track. Inventys has now achieved ISO 9000, 14000, and 18000
certifications. Currently it has got one FDA approved plant (GMP certification awaited) and two
non-GMP plants.
Company proposes to expand the manufacturing of products in segments of Pharmaceutical,
Advanced Intermediates for Pharma Industry, API, Agro Actives, Fine chemicals, specialty
chemicals in the Plot No. SEZ 14 & 15, MIDC Industrial area, Butibori, Nagpur, State-
Maharashtra. The proposed project falls under classification 5(b) & 5 (f) of schedules listed in EIA

1.0 INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT
1.1 Introduction of the Project
Inventys Research Co. Pvt. Ltd. (Inventys) has been promoted by The Multi Group (TMG). TMG

For producing Specialty Intermediates & Fine Chemicals.
Inventys started as a third company in The Multi Group (TMG). Inventys built a grass root facility
in 2006-2008, to cater need of its customer. This plant is manufacturing a chiral complex amino
acid exclusively for one large Europe Based Multi-National Corporation (MNC). The Inventys first
built a pilot plant in one large Multi Group Plant. After getting approval of the pilot production
successfully, Inventys was awarded with the contract for set up and produce the product in the
required scale. The manufacturing process has been completely developed and process
optimized/ stabilized over last four years of operation.
Inventys has built a small but efficient and cost effective manufacturing organization in MIDC at
Butibori near Nagpur. Inventys has already demonstrated ability to build manufacturing plant
(with DCS automation) for specialty chemicals, on a fast track. Inventys has now achieved ISO
9000, 14000, and 18000 certifications. One of the Inventys Plants has also received FDA
approval. Inventys plans to get GMP certification for this plant.

Inventys today employs about 150 people in its current factory in Butibori MIDC near Nagpur. It
plans to recruit 1,100 employees once the operation at this new facility and its head office in
Mumbai. Most of the staff is B.Sc. MSc. and PhD’s in chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
Inventys Butibori site is about 7 acres in size and currently less than 2 acres are occupied.
Inventys has already manufacturing a specialty chemical in the existing manufacturing area. With
this strong background and experience, Inventys is planning to put 8 GMP plants of specialty
chemicals. These plants will be of three storied. Each plant is assigned to manufacture specialty
chemicals/API/Fine chemicals/Bio Pharmaceuticals/ Perfumery chemicals/Chemicals for other
industries. The planned reaction capacity per plant is ~350-400 KL.
List of some of the important processes that shall be included in the plant design are:

There will also spare reserved to build a Kilo level production can take place. Flexible layout of
the plant shall make the plant multipurpose and the kilo scale as well as pilot plant production
can be taken for variety of products without much plant changes. The plant will be controlled by
an elaborate Automation system to ensure a consistency in production. State of the art effluent
treatment system will supplement the environmental responsibility. The utilities required critical
process steps will be housed in the same or adjoining building in order to avoid transport losses
and spillage in plant area.

Considering this background, Inventys is expanding the customer and product base. This project
envisages setting up a new multi-purpose plants for the manufacture of high value specialty
chemicals and advanced inter mediates to be supplied exclusively to Global Chemical MNCs in the
field of Perfumery, Life Sciences, and Pharmaceuticals. Inventys plans to set up this multipurpose
plant at their existing site in MIDC Butibori, near Nagpur, Maharashtra.
Inventys Research Company has now achieved ISO 9001:2008, 14001:2004, and 18000:OSHAS
management System Accreditation. Inventys is submitting this application for a environmental
permission to manufacture a number of advance intermediates, different API's, Specialty
chemicals, Agro Actives and Fine chemicals. This permission will allow Inventys to change the
product mix as per the requirement of customer for custom manufacturing order.
As per the EIA Notification S.O. 1533 dated 14th September 2006, proposed activity is covered
under Pesticides 5 (b) & Synthetic Organic Chemical 5 (f) and needs prior environmental
clearance. Further, as the proposed industry is under category A. Since it is located in a notified
industrial area the project is exempted from public hearing.

1.3 Brief description of nature of the project
Currently Inventys Research Company is producing Specialty Chemicals products sMPGM ((s)-(+)
Methyl Phenyl Glycine Methyl Ester) and 5-Methyl 5- Phenyl Imidazolidine 2, 4-dione. These
products are used in various pharma and agro application.
Company proposes to expand the manufacturing of products in segments of Pharmaceutical,
Advanced Intermediates for Pharma Industry, API, Agro Actives, Fine chemicals, specialty
chemicals in the Plot No. SEZ 14 & 15, MIDC Industrial area, Butibori, Nagpur, State-
Maharashtra.
This site is well connected and the project is manageable from production, pollution control and
quality assurance point of view. All necessary infrastructures for this capacity are already
conveniently available.
1.4 Need for the project and its importance to the country and or region
Inventys has been a contract manufacturing company in market of Specialty Chemicals since its
beginning. With its market knowledge and manufacturing experience, Inventys is aware that
there is substantial market potential in Specialty Chemicals, Advanced Intermediates, API and
Agro Actives which can be explored with.
1.5 Demands-Supply Gap
Indian chemical industry has been facing debilitating competition from China for last 15 yrs.
Import duty reduction coupled with government’s unimaginative policies and inefficiencies in core
sector of the Indian economy have resulted in a destruction of chemical business in India at an
alarming rate.
One of the ways to overcome these challenges is to move up the value chain of chemical
business, i.e. to manufacture higher value specialty chemicals. It is also essential to continuously
change the product mix to stay ahead of the global competition. Such knowledge intensive

business practices would be necessary to gain leadership in today's globally competitive business
in such industry segment by concentrating on high value specialty chemicals using state of the
art manufacturing and research intensive business practices. To fulfill this gap, Inventys is
proposing to increase its production capacity to meet the market requirement.
1.6 Imports vs. Indigenous Production
The products manufactured will be sold both in domestic & export markets. There is significant
demand for these products by large MNCs from Europe, America and Japan. Inventys has a
strong position in supplying such products at internationally competitive prices in a sustainable
manner. This has been made possible by developing efficient processes through in-house R&D,
effective and economical plant design, speedy project execution, and building good customer
relationship.
1.7 Domestic /Export Markets
The finished goods will be sold in domestic as well as foreign market as per client demand.
1.8 Employment Generation due to the project
The proposed new product manufacturing facility will generate employment to 1,100 persons at
various skill levels. Inventys will give priority to local population as per the requirement. The
proposed project is a large scale industry it is bound to encourage small scale industries, traders
and transporters and effect considerable indirect employment.
2.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
2.1 Type of Project
Inventys Research Company private limited proposes to manufacture new products in segments
of Advanced Intermediates for Pharma Industry, API, Fine chemicals, Agro Actives, and specialty
chemicals in the Plot No. SEZ 14 & 15, MIDC Industrial area, Butibori, Nagpur, State-
Maharashtra.
2.2 Project Location
Inventys has a manufacturing unit at Plot SEZ 14 & 15, MIDC Industrial area, Butibori, Nagpur.
Major factories adjacent to the manufacturing unit are CEAT tyres unit on west side, Innovative
Textiles at south side, Spacewood furniture’s on East side and open area on North side. The
proposed site is well connected by road to Nagpur-Chandrapur at distance of 5 Km. Nearest
railway station is at Butibori which is 6 km away from site. The nearest airport is Nagpur at 20
km.

The project site is situated in MIDC Butibori. It is a notified industrial area where the land
is owned by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and leased to the
Company. The land is meant for industrial activity.
Land Ownership: Land is owned by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation
(MIDC) and leased to the Company for 99 years.
2.3 Details of alternate sites considered and the basis of selecting the proposed site
The proposed new project at Plot No. SEZ 14 & 15, MIDC Industrial area, Butibori, Nagpur, State-
Maharashtra. The site is well connected by road as well as by railway and a designated and
approved industrial area for manufacture of chemicals. No alternative site has been considered.

2.5 PROCESS DESCRIPTION:
1) Sucrose octakis (hyrogen sulfate) aluminum complex Chemical Reaction:
Process Description:
In suitable reactor , reflux condenser, addition funnel, thermometer pocket & mechanical stirrer
and assembly was mounted on water bath.
Charged Pyridine at Room Temp, Chlorosulfonic acid added slowly into the reaction mass in 4 to 5 hr at 50 to 55°C.
Add sucrose slowly in 1 hr at 50 to 55°C.
Reaction mass heated to 60 to 65°C over 15 min and maintain for 2.0 hrs.
DM water added and pH of reaction mass adjusted to 7 to 8 byNAOH solution
Pyridine and water distill from reaction mass over period of 4-5 hours.
DM water added and clear solution is charcoal treated for 30 min at 25-35°C.
To filtrate aluminium chlorohydrate solution slowly added in 4 to 5 hrs. at 50 to 55°C
Reaction mass maintain for 2 hours at 60 to 65°C further maintain at 25 to 35°C for 6 hours.
Isolate final product by filtration.

2) 3-(prop-2-en-1-yloxy)-1-benzothiazole 1,1-dioxide
Chemical Reaction:
Process Description:
Stage 1
Take a suitable reactor equipped with condenser, addition funnel, thermometer & mechnaical stirrer.
Charge 1H-isoindole-1,3 (2H)-dione and water in reactor
Purge chlorine in the above solution for at room temperature.
Adjust the p.H of the reaction mass to basic using sodium hydroxide.
Warm the reaction mass .
Stirr the reaction mass and maintain it for another 10-12 hours.
Filter out the precipitated solid & take the filtered solid in methanol.
Heat the reaction mass to reflux and maintain it for 8-12 hours.
Recover the methanol solvent by distillation and get the residual oil as a stage 1 product.
purify prodcut by vacuum distillation
Stage 2
Take a suitable RBF equipped with condenser, addition funnel, thermometer & mechnaical stirrer.
Charge water and methayl aminobenzoate to reactor and add hydrochloric acid.

3) 2-(3,4-Dimethyl-1-H-pyrazol-1-yl)butanedioic acid
Chemical reaction:
Process Description:
Stage 1
Take a suitable RBF euipped with condenser, mechanical stirrer, addition funnel& thermometer.
Charge methnaol at room temp. in to the reaction vessel in 4-5 hrs.
Prepare a solution of 2-butanone & paraformaldehyde and add in reaction mass at 40-50°C in 2-4 hrs.
Add sodium hydroxide in to the reaction mass and maintain thereaction for 10-12 hours at room temperature.
Adjust the p.H of reaction mass by adding sulphuric acid at 25-30°C.
Add hydrazine hydrate in to the reaction mass and maintain reaction for 14-16 hours at 25-
30°C.
Adjust the p.H of reaction mass to basic with sodium hydroxide solution and separate out the oily layer as a
stage 1 product.

4) 3-ethyl-4-methyl-1,5-dihydro-2-h-pyrrol-2-one
Chemical reaction:
Process Description:
Stage 1
Take a suitable reactor , equipped with condenser, addition funnel, thermometer & mechnaical stirrer.
Charge methanol in the reaction vessel at room temperature.
Add methyl-2-ethylacetoacetate & nitromethane in reaction mass.
Add sodium methoxide slowly in the reaction mass.
Heat the reaction mass to reflux & maintain it for 4-8 hours.
Cool the reaction mass to room temperature.
Add sulphuric acid in to the reaction mixture to adjust the p.H of reaction mass .
Filter off the precipitated salt from the reaction mass.
Concentrate the residual mass to get the stage 1 product.
Stage 2
Take a suitable hydrogenator, equipped with with condenser, addition funnel, thermometer & mechnaical stirrer.
Charge nitro intermediate in to the hydrogenator at roo temerature in 2-4 hrs.
Add catalyst Raney Nickel at RT over a period of 1 hour into the hydrogenator.
Seal the autoclave, heat the reaction mas.
Pressurize the autoclave with hydrogen pressure.
Maintain the reaction temperature and pressure for next 6-12 hous.
Cool the reaction mass to room temperature.
Filter the catalyst Raney Nickel & wash with methanol.

5) 2-Amino-5-chlorobenzoic acid
Chemical reaction:
Process Description:
Stage 1
Take a suitable RBF equipped with condenser, addition funnel, thermometer & mechnaical stirrer.
Charge 1H-isoindole-1,3 (2H)-dione and water in reactor
Purge chlorine in the above solution for 4-8 hours at room temperature.
Adjust the p.H of the reaction mass to basic using sodium hydroxide.
Warm the reaction mass to 35-40°C .
Stirr the reaction mass and maintain it for another 10-12 hours.
Filter out the precipitated solid & take the filtered solid in methanol.
Heat the reaction mass to reflux and maintain it for 8-12 hours.
Recover the methanol solvent by distillation and get the residual oil as a stage 1 product.

6) 1-Chloro-2-phenoxybenzene
Chemical reaction:
Process Description:
In suitable reactor reflux condenser, addition funnel, thermometer pocket & mechanical stirrer and
assembly was mounted on oil bath.
Charged 2-chlorophenol, chlorobenzene, NaOH a RT.
Slowly raised the temp of reaction mass to 120-140°C with simultaneous distillation of water over 5-6 over.
Reaction mass maintained for 5-8 hour at 120-140°C.
Cool the reaction mass to room temperature and filter off precipitated solid.
Recover unreacted chlorobenzne by vacuum distillation and purify residue by fractional distillation.

7) Decanenitrile
Chemical reaction:
Process Description:
Stage 1
Take reactor equipped with overhead reflux condenser, mechanical stirrer, thermometer pocket.
Charge toluene in the reaction vessel at room temperature.
Add decanoic acid and SOCl2 in the reaction mass at 25-30°C over 2-4 hrs. Purge ammonia gas slowly from the top of the vessel in the reaction mass for 1-2 hrs.
Heat the reaction mass to reflux for 3-5 hrs.
Filter out the salt and concentrate the filtrate to get residue as stage 1 product.
Stage 2
Take a suitable reactor equipped with overhead mechanical stirrer, thermometer and
reflux condenser.
Prepare a solution of decanamide and acidic resin in a reaction vessel.
Heat the reaction mass to 100-120 °C .
Stir the reaction mass and maintain heating for 20-25 hours.
Simultaneously distill out water and then cool the recation mass to room temperature.
Filter the reaction mass to separate the acidic resin.
Purify it by fractional distillation of product under vacuum.

Chemical Reaction:
Process Description:
Stage 1
In suitable reactor reflux condenser, addtion funnel, thermometer pocket & mechanical stirrer
and assembly was mounted on water bath.
Charge ethyl cyanoacetate in the reaction vessel at room temperature.
Charge propanol in the reaction vessel at room temperature.
Add sodium propoxide slowly from top of the reaction vessel in the reaction mass.
Heat the reaction mass to 50-60° C add propyl bromide slowly from the top and maintain the reaction for 2-6 hrs.
Reflux the reaction mass for next 6-10 hours.
Cool the reaction mass to room temperature.
Filter out the solid sodium bromide as a byproduct.
Concentrate the filtrate to get crude stage 1 product and recover propranol
purify crude stage 1 by vacuum distillation

Chemical Reaction:
Process Description:
Take a suitable reactor equipped with condenser,addition funnel, mechanical stirrer & thermometer.
Charge acetonitrile in the reaction vessel at room temperature.
Charge 2-propylpentaoic acid in the reaction vessel at 25-30°C over a period of 4-5 hrs.
Heat the reaction mass and add sodium hydroxide into the reaction mass.
Maintain heating the reaction mass for next 6-10 hours.
Then cool the reaction mass to room temperature.

recover acetonitrile from filtrate by distillation

Chemical Reaction:
Process Description:
Take a suitable reactor, equipped with condenser, mechanical stirrer, thermometer and addition funnel.
Prepare a solution of 2-propylpentoic acid in acetonitrile.
Add sodium hydroxide in to the solution.
Heat the reaction mass to reflux at 50-60°C for 12-18 hours.
Cool then reaction mass to room temperature.
Recover acetonitrile by fractional distillation.
Distill out the reaction mass to get final product.

11) 1-Chloro-2-methoxynaphthalene
Chemical reaction:
Process Description:
Stage 1:
Take a suitable RBF equipped with reflux condenser, mechanical stirrer, agitator
and thermometer pocket mounted on water bath.
Prepare a solution of naphthalen-2-ol,sodium hydroxide and water in the reaction vessel.
Add dimethyl sulfate in the reaction mass at room temperature over a period of 2-4 hrs.
Add ethyl acetate in the reaction mass.
Heat the reaction mass to 50-60 deg C and maintain stirring & heating for 4-5 hrs.
Cool the reaction mass to room temperature. Separate layer s.
Remove ethyl acetate by fratctional distillation to get stage 1 product.
Stage 2
Take a suitable RBF equipped with reflux condenser, pocket thermometer, mechnaical stirrer and addition funnel mounted on water bath.
Take stage 1 product in the reaction vessel at room temperature.
Add methanol in the reaction mass at RT.
Add 35% Hydrochloric acid in the reaction mass over 1-2 hrs.
Add dropwise H2O2 in the reaction mass in the above reaction mass.
Concentrate the reaction mass and add water at 60-80⁰C
Filter out the final stage 2 product.

Chemical Reaction:
Process Description:
Stage 1
Take a suitable RBF equipped with reflux condenser, mechanical stirrer pocket thermometer, addition funnel mounted on the water bath.
Prepare a solution of naphthale-1-ol & 2-(chloromethyl)oxirane in the reaction vessel.
Heat the reaction mass to 80-100°C for 4-5 hrs.
Reflux the reaction mass and recover the product by fractional distillation.
Stage 2
In suitable Autoclave equipped with S, H and Gas (N2 & H2) inlets.
Prepare a solution of 2-[(naphtalen-1-yloxy)methyl]oxirane and n-benzylpropane-2-amine in methanol.
Heat the reaction mass to reflux for 6-8 hours.
Cool the reaction mass and transfer the reaction mass to hydrogenator vessel.
Add Pd/C carefully in the reaction mass.
Pressurize autoclave up to 5.0 bar of H2 gas and gradually heat reaction up to 75-80⁰C
Maintain the heating for 6-8hrs.
Remove the reaction mass from hydrogenator.
Filter out the catalyst and use for next batch.
Distill out the methanol and add acetonitrile in the reaction mass.
Pass 1 mole of HCl gas.
Filter out the stage 2 product.

2.6 Raw material required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final
Product/s, mode of transport of raw material and finished product Raw Materials: The detailed raw
material list for proposed products as per selected capacity is detailed below for all reactants, solvents
and support chemicals.
Source for Raw Material Procurement:
Raw Materials are easily available in the local market.
Mode of Transport of Raw Materials: Raw Material and finished goods will be transported through
Trucks/ Tankers.
Storage at the site: Raw Materials will be stored in storage yard at the project site. Location of storage
yard is demarcated in Layout Plan.
2.7 Resource optimization/recycling and reuse envisaged in the project
Most energy efficient technology is selected. In proposed new project, domestic waste water will be
treated in proposed STP of capacity 50 CMD and this treated water will be used for gardening.
2.8 Availability of water its source, energy/power requirement and source
2.8.1 Water Requirement and Source
Total fresh water requirement for proposed new project (domestic and industrial activity) during operation
phase will be 1452.5 CMD for first day and afterwards it will be reduced to 1408.5 CMD. The water supply
is from MIDC.
2.8.2 Power Requirement
Power requirement of proposed project will be made available through State Electricity Board. Power
requirement of proposed plant is as below:
Power requirement: 10 MW
2.8.2.1 Emergency power
4 numbers of D. G. sets of 1500 KVA each will be provided to supply power in case of MSEDCL power shut down.

Standard Operating Procedure of Effluent Treatment Plant
Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE) – For high COD & TDS stream from process (169 CMD) will be fed to MEE
(capacity 200.00 CMD) where the effluent will be concentrated up to 50 % w/w by evaporating the water
with the high pressure steam. The condensate of the evaporator will be fed to ETP for removal of volatile
organics that will get carried away in the condensate. The concentrated liquor will be pumped to the
centrifuge for the removal of solids. Thus the dissolved solids will be completely removed from the liquor
and it will also reduce the concentration of other polluting parameters. The solids recovered from
centrifuge will be sent for disposal to CHWTSDF. The condensate of MEE will be pumped to the Effluent
Treatment Plant for the removal of organics.
Effluent Treatment Plant:
Primary Treatment
The system will be designed to treat 623.00 CMD of waste water. Wastewaters from cooling tower and
boiler blow downs etc. will be collected in the equalization tank and air stripped. This effluent will then be
pumped to the Flash Mixer where it will be dosed with PAC for coagulation. Flash Mixer will be followed
by a flocculator where poly will be dosed for bigger flock formation. This effluent will overflow into the
settling tank where the solids will settle down and will be removed.
Secondary (Aerobic) Treatment:
The neutralized effluent will enter the bioreactor along with domestic effluent. In the bio reactor,
dissolved organic material is degraded by the micro–organisms present in the bio reactor. Oxygen
required for the oxidation of organic matter will be provided by means of proposed diffuser aeration
system which will mix the contents of the bioreactor also. The mixed liquor will overflow into Secondary
Settling Tank (SST).
In the secondary settling tank, solid-liquid separation takes place and solids i.e. biomass will settle at the
bottom of the tank. Settled biomass will be recycled to the bio reactor for maintaining the MLVSS
concentration by using proposed sludge recycle pumps and excess biomass will be wasted periodically to
the sludge sump. Two stage treatments are proposed where the overflow from the 1st stage clarifier will
enter the 2nd stage bioreactor where the non-degraded organics from the 1st stage bioreactor will be
treated. The clear overflow from the 2nd stage Secondary Settling Tank will be collected in the
intermediate sump.
Tertiary Treatment:
The clear effluent from the intermediate sump will be pumped by tertiary Feed pumps through the
pressure sand filter (PSF) & activated carbon filters. The final treated effluent will be collected in the final
collection tank from where it will discharge to CETP.

Sludge Handling:
Primary sludge, excess biomass from the secondary treatment and backwash water from PSF will be
collected in the sludge collection tank. From the sludge collection tank it will be pumped to the filter
press for dewatering. The solid cake from filter press will be sent for disposal to Hazardous waste disposal
site. The filtrate from the filter press will be drained to the equalization tank.
Treatment Scheme for Domestic Wastewater
Domestic sewage will be treated in proposed STP of 50 CMD. Treated water will be reused for gardening.

3.0 SITE ANALYSIS
3.1 Connectivity
Proposed unit is planned at Plot No. SEZ 14 & 15, MIDC Butibori, Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The nearest city from the site is Butibori at a distance of 5 Km.
The nearest railway station is Butibori at 6 Km
The nearest airport is at Nagpur at 20 km.
Site is well connected to Chandrapur- Nagpur highway (NH 44).
3.2 Land Form, Land use and Land ownership
The proposed land is situated in approved chemical zone of MIDC where land use is industrial. Land is
owned by MIDC and is leased for 99 years.
3.3 Topography
The industry is located at Latitude – 20°56'44.96"N and Longitude- 78°57'12.76"E. Toposheet of the
site is shown below. The study area (10 km radius) around the project site exhibits flat terrain.

3.4 Existing land use pattern (agriculture, non-agriculture, forest, water bodies (including area
under CRZ), shortest distances from the periphery of the project to periphery of the forests, national
park, wild life sanctuary, eco sensitive areas, water bodies (distance from HFL of the river), CRZ.
The proposed land for setting new unit located in Notified Industrial Estate. The land is acquired by
Inventys. The proposed site is an undeveloped land which does not include agricultural, forestry, water
bodies (including CRZ) etc
3.5 Soil classification
Nagpur lies on the Deccan plateau of the Indian Peninsula and has a mean altitude of 310.5
meters above sea level. The underlying rock strata are covered with alluvial deposits resulting from
the flood plain of the Kanhan River. In some places these give rise to granular sandy soil. In low -lying
areas, which are poorly drained, the soil is alluvial clay with poor permeability characteristics. In the
eastern part of the city, crystalline such as gneiss, schist and granites are found, while in the northern
part yellowish sand stones and clays of the lower formations are found.
3.6 Climatic data from secondary sources
As Nagpur is located at the center of the, far from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, it has
tropical wet and dry climate with dry conditions prevailing for most of the year.
Temperature: Summers are extremely hot, lasting from March to June, with May being the
hottest month. Winter lasts from November to January, during which temperatures can drop
below 10 °C (50 °F). The highest recorded temperature in the city was 48.6 °C on 29 May 2012,
while the lowest was 3.9 °C.
Rainfall: It receives an annual rainfall of 1,205 mm (47.44 inches) from monsoon rains during
June to September. The highest recorded daily rainfall was 304 mm.
3.7 Social Infrastructure Availability
Key infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, bank, places of worship and social/ community
facilities such as park, market, playground etc. education, health care, community development,
income distribution, employment and social welfare are available in nearby area of Maharashtra
Industrial Estate.

4.4 Amenities/Facilities
In proposed site many basic facilities like uninterrupted water supply, Power and Road
Network & solids disposal facility if feasible are available. This site is inside the campus of the MIDC
and means safe transportation, less need of utilities, less constructing buildings and roads, less fuel,
less water with optimization of infrastructure and networking with CHWSTDF (Common Hazardous
Waste Storage Treatment and Disposal facility), in vicinity established with support of MIDC and
MPCB.
All nearby villages are provided with drinking water from wells or Government Water Supply
Schemes RWS. Hence we do not encroach upon their supply.
4.5 Population Projection
Population plays a key role in the development of the agriculture of the region. Like other districts of
Maharashtra, Nagpur is essentially a district of villages. In 2011, Nagpur had population of 4,653,171 of
which male and female were 2,388,558 and 2,264,613 respectively. In 2001 census, Nagpur had a
population of 4,067,637 of which males were 2,105,314 and remaining 1,962,323 were females. In 2011, the
average literacy rate of Nagpur was 82.81 %.

3000 nos. of trees and shrubs will planted at the site and details will be provided in EIA report.

The basic amenities within the study area include primary schools, dispensaries, water supply, electric
supply, public telephones, hotels, banks, post offices, petrol pumps, bus services, technical training
institute and entertainment etc.

1408.5 CMD. Treated effluent will be send to CETP for disposal.
5.9 Solid Waste Management
Hazardous solid waste generated from the process and from ETP will be collected, stored, transported
and sent to CHWTSDF as per Hazardous waste (Management, Handling and Transboundry Movement)
Rules 2008.
5.10 Power Requirement & Supply / source
Power requirement of proposed project will be made available through State Electricity Board. Power
requirement of proposed plant is as below:
Power requirement: 10 MW
04 nos. of D. G. sets of capacity 1500 KVA each, will be proposed to meet emergency power requirement of
the plant.
