HOW DID IT ALL START? IS barometer
survey results: IS unhappy about the welcome, integration with UK students in class and accommodation, unaware of University & SU services.
NUS Internationalising Student Unions project: audit showed our SU needed more international student engagement.
November 2009: ISF was launched during the World-Wide Horizons Festival.

Freshers’: information stand + city tour
World Food & Dance Festival (on request of Leeds Met Buddies wanting a bring a dish event) – organised venue, catering, music, dance performances & lessons for around 100 guests
NUS CONFERENCE NUS
International Students Conferences – training sessions, workshops, NUS elections & networking event, met new NUS International Officer.
RECRUITMENT DRIVE
Desert get together – promotional/recruitment event
THE FRUITS OF LABOUR!! SU Participation Awards – won a Best

Anything from projects to social events to student politics:
•Launch Faculty Student Groups•More multi-cultural events bringing international & UK students closer (bring a dish, pudding events, picnics, ERASMUS & Exchange student party etc including non-alcoholic events)•Work closer with other Forums, Buddies, newly launched Faculty Global Groups & Societies•International Film & Quiz Nights•Promote international engagement in the SU •Promote more SU & Uni opportunities & events•Pass international students friendly policies & influence the Uni with the help of the SU•Build our own website•Design a promotional campaign promoting ISF & integration with UK students•Launch international magazine/newsletter•More training & conferences•Promote IS barometer survey to get more & better results•Promote studying abroad opportunities to students•Promote local & international volunteering opportunities

Working within International Student Forum helped me to develop skills and abilities such as: communication, organisational skills or teamwork, planning and organising events, and hospitality.
The International Students Forum was a fantastic experience and helped me to get through tough interview and get the job that I have always wanted to do.
