DESIGN MUSEUM TWITTER
The Design Museum has an international Twitter following: 61% -the highest of the Culture 24 benchmarked museums and galleries. We suspected they were keen for more content and engagement: what to do? Get an octogenarian Dutch graphic designer to do a live Q+A on Twitter. This is what we learnt.
1. Anyone can tweet – they just need an assistant (or two)
2. Ask for questions in advance to keep the ball rolling on the day, make a note of these.
3. Trail takeover and @ relevant Twitterers and advertise on your website in advance and even onsite!
4. Make a note of how many followers you had before you start the takeover for evaluation
5. Use a hashtag eg. #CrouwelChat
6. Reply with the question included
7. Post photographs on Twitter of the Q+A to bring it to life
8. Cut and paste the Q+A into word to archive
9. Make sure that your colleagues are not on Facebook in the Twitpic
