• Workwithotherparents,theschoolorcommunitymemberstodiscourageorpreventbushparties,whichcaneasilygetoutofhandandoftenresultinimpaireddriving.

What’s the plan?• Knowyourkids’plansinadvance-wherethey’llbeandwithwhom.

• Discusswiththemhowtheywoulddealwithdifficultsituations,whatkindofsecurityorsupervisiontherewillbeatpartiesandevents,andhowtheywillgethome.

• Takeeveryopportunitytoreinforcethemessagethatit’sneverokaytogetaridefromsomeonewho’simpaired.

• Createa‘No Questions Asked’contractwithyourkidsenablingthemtocallhomeanytimeforaride.

Host with the most.• Ifyou’rehostingtheparty,you’reresponsibleforyourguests’behaviourifthey’reimpaired,evenaftertheyleaveyourparty.Iftheyareinvolvedinacrashorhurtsomeone,youcouldbeheldliable.

• Setalimitonthenumberofguestsanddon’thesitatetocallthepoliceifthingsgetoutofhand.
