Robusta resultat:
• Ekonomisk och social globalisering samvarierar med högre förväntad livslängd och lägre fattigdom
• Tycks drivas av handelsregler och informationsflöden
• Ökad ojämlikhet av frihandel, avregleringar och minskad offentlig sektor – mest i rika eller medelinkomstländer
• Viktigast för hälsa i fattiga länder: Läkare och näringsintag
Hur stor är effekten? (ex: 1980-2000)
• Bangladesh ökade sitt KOF-index från 17 till 38 under perioden.Det svarar mot en minskning av absolut fattigdom med 11 procentenheter.
• I Sverige ökade EFI4 (frihandel) 1,4 enheter (på en femgradig skala).Det förklarar en fjärdedel av den ökade Giniojämlikheten.
