scoring over 10 goals in 10 con-
secutive seasons. From 2003-
2004 season to the present sea-
son, Lampard has netted at the
least 10 goals in those seasons.
An incredible statistic for a
midfielder making him one of
the best English midfielders to
grace the pitch.
Yes there are comparisons
with Steven Gerrard but they
are two different players and
should not be compared.
What Gerrard does for Liver-
pool is completely different to
what Lampard does for Chelsea.
With Lampard’s contract out
at the end of the season it will
be interesting to see where he
ends up. Where ever he goes, he
will leave a lasting legacy be-hind him.
Frank Lampard is edging ever
nearer to becoming Chelsea’s all
time leading goal scorer.
Lampard has been with Chel-
sea since 2001 and so far has
managed to net 197 times for his
club.
197 goals from midfield is
astonishing and will probably
never be repeated. Why?
Simply because Lampard is
one of those players who lives
and breathes football. He as an
incredible eye for goal and not
to mention a penalty expert.
It would be interesting to see
how many of his 197 goals were
from the spot but they all
count.
Lampard only needs another
six goals to overtake Bobby
Tambling - leading Chelsea goal
scorer with 202 goals - record.
With the amount of games
for him to score in are decreas-
ing by the week will there be
enough time for him to grab
those all important goals.?
If Benitez consistently plays
him for the rest of the season
there is more than enough time
for Lampard half a dozen goals
until the season finishes.
Chelsea will definitely get
plenty of penalties over the next
few months so Lampard can
easily add to his tally that way.
On the contrary, the way he’s
been scoring at the moment
you would expect him to bang
in a few long range screamers.
All that is for certain is that
he has the chance to become an
all time great for his club, a true
midfield maestro who can actu-
ally score goals season in, sea-son out.
With Lampard looking to
break one record, he recently
went into the record books for

WHAT’S INSTORE FOR ODEMWINGIE NOW?
Well, where do we begin with
this situation?
A once loved player bought
over from Russia, now a hated
player who will probably never
play for West Bromwich Albion
again.
All of this because he tried to
force a move to QPR.
Odemwingie had expressed
his desire to leave the club but
had his request rejected twice.
Odemwingie led his outburst
via twitter and soon found him-
self in deep water.
Yet no-one expected what
happened on ‘deadline day’.
Odemwingie had drove down
to QPR’s ground to have a
medical before being told he
wouldn’t be allowed in as WBA
and QPR hadn’t agreed a trans-
fer.
Odemwingie looked like a
complete fool trying to force a
move and it showed a lack of
respect towards his parent club.
It was a complete shambles
and Odemwingie is now await-
ing further punishment after
WBA announced that they
would be dealing with the mat-
ter.

A below average perform-
ance from Nottingham United
saw them to a 4-1 defeat againstLinby Colliery.
The game started well for both
teams with both Linby and
Nottingham United getting an
early shot on goal.
Linby then bossed the posses-
sion and were passing the ball
around neatly and carving out
opportunities.
Matt Murphy looked deadly for
Linby and forced a good saveout of United keeper Nathan
Grundy who pushed it out for a
corner.
Straight down the other end
Dennis Hickey saw his effort
cleared off the line.
Linby then had a shot of their
own cleared off the line as Mar-
tin Burke saw his tame shot
being booted away.
Linby soon started to dominate
the game as United were giving
away possession easily and
were getting pushed around.
The domination soon paid off
as they earned what can be
called a cheap penalty after
Lewis had barged into his man.
Up stepped Murphy to put
Linby one nil up from 12 yards
out.
Linby turned up the heat as
Martin Burke nearly grabbed a
second but his weak volley was
gratefully held by the United
keeper.
The closing stages of the first
half didn’t help United as they
saw two of their players come
off with injuries and Murphy
grabbed his second goal of the
game with a little chip over the
keeper. At half time the score was 2-0
and Nottingham United knew
they had to step up their per-
formance to try and salvage
some pride and gain something
from the match.
All seemed well at the start of
the second half as Linby were
making mistakes and United
were dominating the posses-
sion and creating a lot of
chances.
The best of the chances came
to Jamie Clarke who should
have put United back into the
game but his shot was straight
at Linby goalkeeper Philip
McNeill.
Another great chance fell to
United to get them back into
the game, after a great ball by
Lewis, Luke Reynolds con-
trolled well but his volley went wide of the far post.
Unfortunately for United,
Linby grabbed the vital third
goal. From the left hand side
Tom Coupe passed the ball to
Murphy. He swivelled his de-
fender and placed his shot into
the far corner, grabbing his hat
-trick.
United did have a glimmer of
hope as debutant Chris Tivey scored with a supreme volley
that went in off the post, leav-
ing Linby goalkeeper McNeill
stranded.
However, going into the dying
embers of the game Barry
Payne slid the ball through to
Simon Marlow who stabbed
the ball home from 10 yards to
give Linby a 4-1 lead and the
three points.
A disappointing start to Febru-
ary for Nottingham United but
they will be focusing on their
next game which is at home to
Southwell City next week..
They will also be hoping that
the1 injuries sustained during
the game will heal up in time
ready for the next fixture.

“Manchester
City are still
alive here,
Balotelli,
AGUEROOO
OOOOOOO

Martin Tyler
Paul Dickov has left
Oldham despite a good
run of form which in-
cluded a win over Liver-
pool.
Liverpool have signed Inter
Milan’s Brazilian starlet
Coutinho, a brilliant signing
for Rodgers and one that
will pay off for the Reds.
GOODBYE BALOTELLI
Well he’s only been in the Premier
League for a few years but Balotelli will
be missed by a lot of people.
Not only will the City fans miss but
also the neutrals will miss him aswell.
He may be a bit childish but he’s
certainly a player that everyone finds
hilarious due to his antics on and off
the field.
He has had fireworks set off in hisroom, he couldn’t put on a bib, he’s
handed out money to the homeless,
the list goes on but with all the good
things come the bad things.
Balotelli has had numerous red
cards in his City career and has cost
them dearly at times.
He has been told by Mancini count-
less times that he would no longer play
for the club but one way or another,
Balotelli soon found his way back into
the team.
Balotelli only had one assist
throughout his whole City career and
it’s one City fans will be grateful for.
We all remember it, last day of the
season, currently 2-2 at the Etihad
against QPR, only a minute remaining.
City needed a goal to win the title
and snatch it away from their arch
rivals Manchester United.
The last attack saw Balotelli stabbing
the ball to Aguero who scored the title
winning goal of an incredible rol-
lercoaster game.
This will live long in the memory of
City fans but he has now moved to AC
Milan for £17m and had many reasons
for leaving, but one thing is for sure,
he certainly has had an impact on the
Premier League despite his short stay.

Another defeat for Real Ma-
drid at the hands of Granada all
but ends their title challenge.
It hasn’t been the greatest of
seasons for Mourinho’s men
and this result is one of many
that have come as a shock to
fans worldwide.
Knowing full well anymore
slip ups could have severe ef-
fects on their title chances, a
victory over minnows Granada
was necessary.
However, yet again Mour-inho’s men failed to live up to
expectations and lost the game
1-0.
It was the nature of the loss
that will hurt the most, but the
result will hurt CristianoRonaldo the most.
His own goal in the 23rd
minute handed Granada all
three points and a costly defeat
for Madrid.
With Ronaldo trying to keep
up with the likes of Messi an
own goal doesn’t help his
cause.
It was not only embarrassing
for the club, but also embar-rassing for himself. The great
Ronaldo scoring in his own net.
Messi must have been laughing
out loud when he heard the
news.
Madrid will now have to
focus on finishing in second
and that’s going to be tough as
Atletico Madrid are having a
brilliant season and as they are
currently five points clear of
Real Madrid in second, they
have a job to chase them down.
And being 16 points behind
Barcelona only makes matters
worse. The quicker this season
ends Madrid will be able to
move on and focus on the fol-
lowing season.

When you look around the
leagues of the world you some-
times come across a gem that
could be a hit if they move to the
right club.
Johnny Russell is definitely
one of those players who could
progress into a fantastic player if
he makes the right choice andmove to a new club.
The Dundee United striker
clubs.
A big money move to a top
team would not be a preference
as it could ruin his career.
If he was to move to a club like
Sunderland or maybe Everton,
clubs where he would flourish
and not be under threat fromsuperstars. This would turn the
striker into a brilliant player and
is one keep an eye on.

JOHNNY RUSSELL - DUNDEE UNITED’S DEADLY FINISHER
LOIC REMY - UP FOR THE CHALLENGE OR MONEY GRABBING
Soon enough Remy’s choice of
club came into question. Why
would he choose a team bottom
of the Premier League instead of
a solid mid table team like New-
castle who have talented players?
Money is a major part of foot-
ball now and if a player knows he
can get double his wage from
somewhere else he is going to
take that offer immediately.
Remy is on £75k a week but
claimed his move to QPR was for
the “survival challenge” and not
the money.
Hard fact to swallow for jour-
nalists, football fans and also
football players & managers.
If the move was clearly to help
QPR survive then fair play to
him, but would say money bags
lit up in his eyes and he snatched
the opportunity without a mo-
ments hesitation.
One of the strangest transfers
to have happened in Premier
League history.
Loic Remy, one of France’s
hottest prospects with a bright
future ahead of him was being
chased by many top clubs.
Apparently, Newcastle had got
a deal done and dusted for the
Marseille striker but the next
thing you know, QPR have
snapped him up for around £8m.

It was certainly a shock when
Wesley Sneijder chose to play his
football in Turkey, but there’s an
even greater shock now.
Didier Drogba - Chelsea leg-
end - has now decided to move
from China and join Sneijder at
Galatasaray.
Again this came as a shock to
the footballing world but with
disputes over in China there is a
valid reason for his move,
There was rumours that Chel-
sea had offered him a six month
deal as Abramovich had realized
his £50m striker Fernando Torres
wasn’t cutting it.
Instead, Drogba chose Turkish
football over the Premier League.
His intention for going there
could be for money but who
knows?
He will be guaranteed football
as he is a world class players, he
will almost certainly get Champi-
ons League football as Galata-
saray are always challenging for
the title.
Silverware is most certainly a
possibility so there are things for
Drogba to aim at before retiring.
It was definitely a transfer that
no-one saw coming and has left
many pondering why Galata-
saray are attracting these amaz-
ing players.
Maybe Galatasaray are the
new Man City or the new PSG
and are trying to build a team
that can fight to win the Cham-
pions League.
With money though comes
the egos. QPR for example, a
team that splashed the cash all
over the place and are sitting
rock bottom of the Premier
League.
Turkish football is different to
English football but the point is
a team full of egos on £100k per
week isn’t going to help Galata-saray’s cause.
Despite this they will certainly
be a team to be wary of.
into the top half of the Premier

final of the Capital One Cup.
However, it looks like his ex-
cellent performances have gone
unnoticed by Vincent Del
Bosque.
It wouldn’t hurt to throw
Michu into the squad just so see
how he fits in to the national
team.
The only problem is there are
Possibly the biggest news
regarding Spain’s national team.
Michu hasn’t even been selected
in the squad for their next inter-
national friendly.
The man who signed for Swan-
sea for £2m from Rayo Vallecano
has had a sublime start to his
debut season in the Premier
League.
He has been instrumental for
Swansea and has helped them
too many great Spanish players
that are higher up in the pecking
order.
That is one of the major prob-
lems for many Spaniards that are
performing out their proverbial
skin.
A prime example of this is the
Spanish goalkeepers. Casillas,
Valdez and Reina are always
fighting for a stat and usually
Casillas wins.

Liverpool have signed Inter
Milan’s Brazilian starlet Phillipe
Coutinho for a fee believed tobe £8.5m.
Coutinho is one of many
highly rated Brazilian young-
sters and is definitely a good
coupe for Rodgers.
A player full of flair and skill
will bring something extra to
the Liverpool squad.
Coutinho is also a playmaker
and with him in the midfield
Suarez and Sturridge will re-ceive all the help they can get
from this young lad.
For Inter Milan, Coutinho
didn't get that much of a look
in and was loaned out last sea-
son to help improve his ability and nurture the talent within
him.
That loan move has mas-
sively helped and now that he
has moved to what can argua-
bly be the best league in the
world to one of England’s top
clubs he certainly going to im-
prove a lot more.
Alongside Coutinho, Liver-
pool have got Allen, Gerrard,
Henderson and Lucas, a host of
talented midfielders who will
all be fighting for their place in
the squad.
Coutinho will be eased into
Premier League action as he is
just recovering from an injury, but once he gets used to the
style of football in England, this
young Brazilian could be a
huge hit for Liverpool and
could soon be on the radar of
even bigger clubs in the future.
There are players like Didier
Dorgba who work with charities
but keeps it to himself and does-
n’t inform the media of his work.
So why the need for Beckham

Only he knows the answer to
that but you can’t knock him for
donating his wages.

You don’t see many players on

a real nice thing to see in football
as it shows it’s not the money that counts, more about passion
and wanting to play football.

Plenty of shocks that hardly
anyone could see and some were more shocking than oth-

But, this is what the FA Cup
brings to football, low league

It gives the chance for these
‘lower’ teams to get far in a

It also means there’s more

cannot be predicted easily.
