Facebook Dynamic Ads:
Show Highly Relevant Ads to the People
Most Likely to Purchase
Facebook Dynamic Ads help you promote the right products, at the right time, to the right
audience.
Show products to shoppers who recently browsed your product pages or added products to the
cart and purchased.
For example, people browsing a nurse t-shirt may see a Dynamic Ad for that same nurse t-shirt if
they did not purchase it, or they may see different nurse t-shirt designs and other related nurse
products such as leggings, hoodies, and more.
Benefits of dynamic ads on Facebook:
– Get another chance to turn that visitor into a customer
– Each ad is specially formatted for your shoppers
– Convert more sales with lower ad cost
– Greater click-through rates and conversions
– Promote relevant products to people who visited your product pages
– Set up once and promote related products ongoing to people most likely to purchase
– Showcasing one or more products across any device
Your Dynamic Ads may appear on Facebook, Instagram, or both, depending on the ad
placements you choose.
The delivery of the right marketing message, to the right person, at the right time pays huge
dividends. You are reaching people who have shown interest in your product and already visited
your product page.
You can use Dynamic Ads to target three different customer behaviors:
Viewed Content: After a customer views a product page in your store, you can begin serving
them ads featuring the same product to encourage them to take another look. Most visitors do
not purchase on the first view. Keep showing them ads to convert.
Add to Cart: If a customer adds a product to their cart, but doesn’t purchase it, you can show
them ads that specifically promote that product, giving them a gentle nudge back to your site to
complete the transaction. Treat these people with classic cart abandonment email techniques.

Product Purchase: Once a customer successfully purchases a product, you can serve those ads
featuring related products, upsells, new arrivals, and anything else that might be valuable to
them based on their purchase history.
Upsells immediately after a new purchase are effective, because they work! Brand new
customers are increasingly more apt to purchase something else from you than cold prospects
with no prior history.
Cross-sell to past customers. You’ve read the stats. You already know past customers are worth
more (and convert higher) than new ones. So why focus ads rewarding and encouraging past
customers?
Here is how it works:
1. Upload your product catalog
A product catalog, sometimes called a product feed, is a list of products you would like to
advertise on Facebook. Each product in the list has specific attributes which can be used to
generate an ad: a product ID, name, description, landing page URL, image URL, availability, and
so on.
To upload your catalog to Facebook, you'll need a Business Manager account.
2. Set up your pixel
Place the Facebook pixel on your website (or app events if you have an app) and modify it to
report when product IDs from your catalog are being viewed, added to cart, and purchased.
Your Facebook pixel is the same pixel used to create website Custom Audiences or to track
conversions. You can find your pixel code in your Ad Account under Tools > Pixels.
3. Create a Dynamic Ad template
Create a Dynamic Ad template that is automatically filled with the right products. You can choose
to show all products or only a single product set which you define. Use keywords to pull in
images, product names, and prices more dynamically from your product catalog. Show a single
product or multiple products at once using the carousel ad format.
Dynamic Ads work on Facebook News Feed, Right-Hand Column, and the Audience Network.
With one dynamic ads template, you can deliver ads to any device: mobile, tablets, and desktop.
4. Run Dynamic Ads
To get started today, select the Product Catalog Sales objective in Power Editor, Ads Manager.
Congratulations! You have set up your retargeting ads
and can now remarket your traffic and get more conversions for less.
