SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
1.Authorisation This policy was developed and adopted by the Wonderland Educare management Committee at the Committee meeting on 17th September 2014. 2.Review This policy will be reviewed annually, or varied earlier if necessary. The Committee will notify the parents or guardians of the children attending Wonderland Educare of that change. 3.Purpose This policy will provide guidelines:
For the safe and appropriate use of social media within the context of Wonderland Educare.
4.Scope This policy applies to the Committee of Management, Staff,Parents/Guardians who wish to have their children enrolled at this centre, or have children already enrolled at this centre, volunteers or students undertaking placement at the centre. 5.Background Social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+,Snap chat,Instagram, YouTube and other social media sites not limited to the above and also not limited to blogging social media sites that represent a growing form of communication organisations, allowing them to engage with the wider community more than ever before. However, it is also an area in which rules and boundaries are constantly being tested and we must be mindful of the effects of the use of social media on children and families within our kindergarten community, particularly in relation to privacy and confidentiality. This policy acts in conjunction with Wonderland Educare; enrolment contract and Privacy and Confidentiality Policy. 6.Policy Statement Wonderland Educare is committed to:
•maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of children attending the kindergarten, and the families of children who attend. •ensuring the online safety of children and families of children who attend the kindergarten

7.Procedures (a) Staff or Committee of Management posting to social media, including the Wonderland Educare School website.
•must ensure that children are not identifiable within photos or named in posts •must ensure that, where photos are taken with intention of use for social media posts, that families of the children have consented to photos being taken of their child and which uphold the values of this policy
(b )Parents/guardians, other family members or volunteers posting to social media:
•must ensure that only their child is included in photos or posts, unless consent is explicitly given by parents/guardians of other children for their child’s photograph to be posted on social media.
(c) Social media linked to Wonderland Educare Pre School, in particular the school Facebook page must not be used for the promotion of personal financial interests, commercial ventures, personal campaigns or to promote other businesses; (d) Users who are deemed to be using our page inappropriately, particularly in the above mentioned ways, will be blocked by administrators. 8.Breach of Policy All reports of cyber bullying ,defamation, naming and shaming and the use of Social media to defame Wonderland educare ,it’s principal or staff will be investigated fully and may result in a notification to Police or Admins of specific social media pages and or appropriate governing bodies where the preschool is obliged to do so. Users must be aware that in certain circumstances where a crime has been committed,or hate speech , naming and shaming or defamation has been found they may be subject to a criminal investigation by Police over which Wonderland Educare has no control or may result in civil action against them. Any concerns or suspicions over the breach of this policy should be brought to the immediate attention of an administrator of our page either via email, telephone or conversation in person and not be addressed on the site and will be dealt with at the discretion of the Committee of Management. 9.Key responsibilities The Committee is responsible for:
•Developing and reviewing this policy. •Authorising any changes to this policy. •Ensuring this policy is implemented. •Monitoring complaints and incidents regarding this policy.

ANNEXURE B – RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT
1. School hours – from 06:30 – 18:00 (Monday-Friday). Please note that all
the staff go off duty at 18:00. Any late collections after 18.00 ,there will be a
fine that will have to be paid of R 100.00 per incident. This Fine is to be paid
directly to the staff member on duty upon collection of your child.
2. Transport for your child is not provided by Wonderland Educare , this is a
separate arrangement between the client and independent transport operators.
We have negotiated with a Transporter for a special rate of R 450 to collect
and drop at Wonderland Educare daily.Wonderland Educare does not provide
a transport service , nor does it collect any transport fees on behalf of
operators.This is a contract between the parent and the transporter.
3. School Aftercare Fees must be paid in advance by no later that the 2nd of
each month. Fees are reviewed annually or more often if necessary. One
school terms notice in writing or One school terms fees in lieu of notice, is
required when you intend to remove your child from WONDERLAND
EDUCARE
4. Fees are payable in full, even if the child is away on holiday or due to illness.
An additional 2% per month as prescribed in trems of the National Credit
Act will be charged to your account if payments are made after the 4th of the
month (due date), until date of final payment. If payment is still not made
within 14 days after the due date you were requested to make payment, your
child’s enrolment will automatically expire without further notice and the
position filled.
5. Lunch is served as soon as the children arrive for Aftercare. An afternoon Snack is also provided.

6. Children’s homework will be supervised daily and Homework books will be
signed by the teachers.
7. PLEASE mark all clothing. We cannot be held responsible for any loss of
property, although we take all possible precautions to prevent this from
happening.
8. When a child has a non-contagious mild illness. Parents are required to write
in the child’s message book, stipulating the medication dosages and when it is
to be administered, but this may only be administered if the medical
administration form is signed by the parent. Medication containers must be
clearly labeled with Childs name and surname. If Instructions are not signed
off on the medical administration form by the Parent and witnessed, no
medication will be administered.
9. WONDERLAND EDUCARE, closes once a year for plus minus fifteen
working days during the Christmas and New year period. The fees for
December are still payable in full, irrespective of whether your child is
attending , left for holidays or leaving us in the following year.
Please keep in mind that the fees are calculated at 48 weeks per annum and not
the normal 52 weeks, which compensates for the days being closed.
10. Children that have lice or any infectious diseases must be treated
immediately and will not be allowed to attend WONDERLAND EDUCARE
before a doctors clearance certificate is produced (Health Department
Requirement). It is not the centre’s responsibility to treat the child.
We can assure you that we take all possible precautions to insure your child’s
well being.
11. Changes to your work, home address or phone numbers must be brought to
the principals attention as soon as possible, so that we can update our records.
12. WONDERLAND EDUCARE’S children are not allowed to:
a) bring toys
b) physically or verbally abuse another child

c) be destructive with school equipment or another child’s possessions
eg.Clothes, etc.
d) be verbally or physically abusive towards their teachers.
13. I the undersigned hereby bind myself as surety and co-principal debtor to
Bevman Creche Services cc t/a WONDERLAND EDUCARE for the due and
punctual fulfilment by myself of all my obligations to Bevman Creche
Services cc, hereby renouncing the benefits of excussion and division and the
cession of action, the meaning and effects of which I know and
understand.This means you will be liable to pay the amounts owed and that
you sign as personal surety to guarantee this payment should you default.
14. If this account is handed over for collection ,I understand that I will be liable
for all costs of whatsoever nature, as between attorney and client,including
25% collection commission,tracing costs and any costs that may occur in the
recovery of monies owed.
15.The owners of WONDERLAND EDUCARE reserves the right to dismiss any
parent or cancel any child’s enrolment for the following reasons with immediate
effect.
a) For not disclosing problems such as physical, mental or psychological
behavior your child may have that you were aware of.
b) For not disclosing a medical conditions your child may be suffering
from that may be detrimental to other children or staff at
WONDERLAND EDUCARE , or that may impact on the type of care
given to the child.
c) Parents who spread rumours to bring the name of the teachers,
principal and/or owners of WONDERLAND EDUCARE into
disrepute.

d) Parents that are bad payers and regularly have to be reminded to pay
their child’s fees on time, will receive a final letter from management
as a last resort, before terminating your childs position.
Thereafter it may necessitate a dismissal and legal action if necessary.
e) Parents who are abusive and use foul language toward management
and the staff of WONDERLAND EDUCARE.
f) Parents whose children are abusive , cause injury to other children both
emotional and physical.
g) Parents who fail to adhere to the policy and procedures of Wonderland
Educare including social media policy.
16. Parents that may have any grievances or a problem concerning their child are
requested to make an appointment to speak to the principal or owner.
17. He/she/it hereby confirm that the entire agreement and more in particular the
meaning and the legal relevance of all the clauses to this agreement have been
specifically explained to the me , I had the opportunity to clarify the
implications of any of the clauses and hereby confirm that he/she/it fully
understands the entire agreement, as prescribed by Section 22 of the Consumer
Protection Act 68 of 2008.
17.1 That the Client has been informed of the fact that the Act gives a
cooling off right to consumers (such as the Client) who enter into
agreements (including Service Provider agreements such as this one)
as a result of direct marketing and that such consumers may without
consequence cancel such agreements in writing within five working
days of the date of signature thereof and;
17.2 That if the Client has confirmed that the Client has entered into this
agreement as a result of direct marketing it is understood and
accepted that it is the policy of the Service Provider to only
commence the rendering of its service after the five working day
period has elapsed and

17.3 That if the Client has confirmed that the Client has not entered into
this agreement as a result of direct marketing the Service Provider will
be lead to believe that the Client does not have the right to cool off and
will by virtue of such confirmation depart from the above policy and
commence the rendering of the service immediately after signature
hereof.
17.4 The Client further records that he/she/it is aware of his /her/it’s right
in terms of the Act to terminate this agreement, for any reason
whatsoever, upon 20 business days notice.
17.5 Should the client exercise this right, the Client acknowledge that
he/she/it will be responsible for the reasonable expenses incurred by
the Service Provider on the client’s behalf, which in total may not
exceed an amount equal to 10% of the gross price which would have
been earned and as herein agreed.
18. Relationship of the Parties
The Parties acknowledge and agree that the Services performed by the Service
Provider, its employees, agents or sub-contractors shall be as an independent
contractor and that nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to constitute a
partnership, joint venture, agency relationship or otherwise between the
parties.
19.Confidentiality
Neither Party will use, copy, adapt, alter or part with possession of any
information of the other which is disclosed or otherwise comes into its
possession under or in relation to this Agreement and which is of a
confidential nature. This obligation will not apply to information which the
recipient can prove was in its possession at the date it was received or obtained
or which the recipient obtains from some other person with good legal title to
it or which is in or comes into the public domain otherwise than through the
default or negligence of the recipient or which is independently developed by
or for the recipient.

20. Notices
Any notice which may be given by a Party under this Agreement shall be
deemed to have been duly delivered if delivered by hand, first class post,
facsimile transmission or electronic mail to the address of the other Party as
specified in this Agreement or any other address notified in writing to the
other Party. Subject to any applicable local law provisions to the contrary, any
such communication shall be deemed to have been made to the other Party, if
delivered by:
i. first class post, 2 days from the date of posting;
ii. hand or by facsimile transmission, on the date of such delivery or
transmission; and
iii. electronic mail, when the Party sending such communication receives
confirmation of such delivery by electronic mail.
21. Miscellaneous
The failure of either party to enforce its rights under this Agreement at
any time for any period shall not be construed as a waiver of such
rights.
If any part, term or provision of this Agreement is held to be illegal or
unenforceable neither the validity nor the enforceability of the
remainder of this Agreement shall be affected.
The Client shall not assign or transfer all or any part of its rights under
this Agreement without the consent of the Service Provider.
This Agreement may not be amended for any other reason without the
prior written agreement of both Parties.

This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the
Parties relating to the subject matter hereof unless any representation
or warranty made about this Agreement was made fraudulently and,
save as may be expressly referred to or referenced herein, supersedes
all prior representations, writings, negotiations or understandings with
respect hereto.
The Owner/Principal of WONDERLAND EDUCARE reserves the right to cancel
any child’s enrolment or expel any child/children so deemed necessary or give a
parent notice with immediate effect, if the above mentioned rules and regulations are
not adhered to.
