Darwin y Ekman 1882 “ the expression of emotion in man and animals”“La sonrisa puede ser Posada y Espontánea”.
Frush y Fisher 1958 “The dysesthetic interpretation of the dentogenic concept” Primeros en introducir la dimensión tranversal de la sonrisa, término “Correderas bucales” (Espacios negativos) y “Arco de la sonrisa” (armonía entre bordes incisales superiores y curvatura borde superior de labio inferior
Husley 1970 “An esthetic evaluation of lip-tooth relationships present in smile” Encontró poca diferencia entre las fotografías de la sonrisa posada de cada individuo.

Rubin 1974 “the anatomy of a smile: its importance in the treatment of facial paralysis.”Clasificó a la sonrisa en tres “estilos”: Comisural, Cuspídea y Compleja. (dinámica)
Plast Reconstr Surg
Ackerman y Ackerman 1998 “A morphometrics analisys of the posed smile” Modificaron la clasificación realizada por Peck y col. al designar la sonrisa de Fase I como sonrisa posada y la de Fase II como sonrisa no posada (espontánea).
Clin Orthod Res.
Rigsbee OH 1998 “The influence of facial animation on smile characteristics” Estudió la confiabilidad de las sonrisas posadas, como Husley coincidieron en la capacidad de reproducción de éstas era muy buena.
Int J Adult Orthodon Orthognath Surg.
Peck y Peck 1995 “selected aspects of the art and science of facial esthetics”Clasificó a la sonrisa como Fase I y Fase II. Semin Orthod

REVISIÓN DEL ARTÍCULO C.D. MARVIN L. SOLIS CRISTOBAL copyright

Optima: Labio sup. alcanza
márgenes gingivales, todo el
diente más gíngiva interproximal
Baja: Se muestra menos de
75% de los dientes superiores

promedio: 23 mm. hombres.
20 mm. mujeres.

C.D. MARVIN L. SOLIS CRISTOBAL copyright
(2) Elevación del labio
Labio Hipomóvil
JCO/MARCH 2005 VOLUME XXXIX NUMBER 3

PLANO OCLUSAL FRONTAL
Línea de canino a canino, paralela alínea bipupilar.
